Emily Thorne: [opening voiceover] In its purest form, an act of retribution provides symmetry... The rendering of payment for crimes against the innocent. But the danger of retaliation lies in furthering the cycle of violence. Still, it's a risk that must be met, when the greater offense is to allow the guilty to go unpunished.

teary-eyed Charlotte
Amanda's funeral. Jack's realization that he was lied to by both Amanda and Emily. And Charlotte guarding over baby Carl. Wow, that one's so beautiful.
There's actually no real reason (had this been real life) why Emily couldn't have come forward with the whole story to Jack. He should know, and rather be hurt once and for all than to draw it out. In real life, surely...? The only reason it doesn't occur that way, is because the scriptwriters are hanging on to the required deception so that the story-line could be stretched towards a next season.
Since previous episode, Ashley Madekwe seeems to be losing her sparkle. Everybody else is in fine form, not that I'd ever be in favor of Connor Paolo as Declan, and this unnecessary new guy, this James Bond-ian Matthews fellow whatsisname, Aidan. Aiden, whatever.
