Great to have Anneka back.
It's generally the case that revivals, remakes, call them what you will, of shows from The 80s and 90's are diabolical, so the expectations for Challenge Anneka were low.
What a huge surprise this was, who didn't watch and love Challenge Anneka, a show we all watched and loved as a family. The magic, was still here, still the same well intentioned, fun and feel good show that it always was.
Anneka Rice, I'm not sure how, but she doesn't look all that different, she has aged very gracefully, and remains as charming and lovely as ever, she came across incredibly well as you'd expect.
The ninety minute running time worked well, the endless adverts were the only detractor.
My only gripe, Channel Five's decision to mess about with the scheduling of it, we've had two thoroughly enjoyable episodes, and what happens, they've dropped it, finally it was something worth watching on a Saturday night, and they've decided to pull it, it makes absolutely no sense.
8/10.
