Warning: Spoilers
Last season's two woeful teams with 4 wins combined between them battle it out. Clarkson as the new Kangaroos coach, the Eagles starting with key injuries again in Naitanui and Yeo, it's anyone's game. Allen butchering a uncontested run in goal could be costly. Darling bananas one through from the boundary and McGovern intercepting like he does. Kelly poor early, the Roos up 1 at quarter-time, but down their sole ruckman. Curtis with a good stoppage goal for North and the Roos kick away with their fifth on the trot. Larkey slots his third, a very consistent kick on goal. The Eagles forwards not getting enough supply, down 21 at the half. The Eagles challenge late in the 3rd, Ryan with a nice goal. The Kangaroos take a 15-point lead into the final term. Larkey kicks his fifth, but North's pressure starts to fall off a bit, as fatigue sets in and the game gets sloppy. West Coast allowed more space bring it back to within a goal late, but the Kangaroos gets home by 5 points. That miss by Allen early did end up costing them, heh. The Eagles handily won the hit-outs, North +15 in clearances though and had more of the footy. Though with only 3 more inside 50's and 1 more scoring shot. Davies-Uniacke best afield, with 32 disposals, 10 clearances, 7 inside 50's, 5 tackles, a goal and an assist. Larkey 6 straight goals. Simpkin 25 disposals, 7 clearances and 5 tackles. For West Coast, McGovern 22 disposals and 12 intercepts. Shuey 27 disposals, 7 inside 50's, 8 tackles, 594 metres gained, a goal and an assist.

3. (Nth) L. D-Uniacke, 2. (Nth) N. Larkey, 1. (Wce) J. McGovern.
