Peak Anime is Back
rxckne10 April 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I did not expect this much from the first episode of the season. To start, the infinity castle is such a unique place that is so surreal and the animation while we're witnessing it adds so much to it. When we saw it in the season 1 finale I thought it was out of this world, but seeing it now with such higher stakes is breathtaking and ufotable keeps elevating it higher and higher. I hope this is a place where we get a showdown between Muzan and our main characters because a fight scene here would be stunning.

Maybe it was just me but I did NOT expect all of these upper ranks to show up in episode 1, or at least not the upper 1 demon. Kokushibo has such a great character design and scary aura to him that sets himself apart from the rest. I honestly would've preferred if he was revealed at the end of the season and maybe if he showed up at the end of a battle and made a huge statement, but I'm still ok with finding out all of the upper ranks at once considering Gyutaro just died and it was the first upper rank to get killed in 113 years, so clearly it was a huge deal that needed the appearance of them all. Also want to mention that Doma is a lot of fun to watch and while I wish they varied the remaining demons a little more in terms of how serious they are, I love Doma's personality even though it's a casual anime trope to have characters with that attitude. But I don't want to judge too early because we still haven't seen much of upper 4 & 5 yet and I feel like they'll grow on me as the season progresses.

Something that I'm extremely curious about is why Kokushibo looks so similar to Tanjiro's father. Not only him, but the man in Tanjiro's dream. Maybe I missed it but they seem like the same person? Just the one in the dream was in human form. I could be completely wrong and forgive me if I am but then we saw him at the end of the episode with the same earrings as Tanjiro. I've always been extremely curious because as we saw when Daki was fighting Tanjiro, Muzan was scared of Tanjiro's father and Muzan's scent was obviously at the scene of where Tanjiro's family got murdered. So there are a lot of moving parts there that I can't really connect, but I feel like Kokushibo is intertwined with it in some way. I thought maybe he could be Tanjiro's uncle?? I know I probably sound like I'm reaching here but Kokushibo can't look that similar and not have some relation to the Kamado family. And if that's him in human form in the dream sequence and he's somehow at the swordsmith village then that'd be insane, but I feel like I'm reaching to the moon lmao. Nonetheless I'm excited to see the backstory of Kokushibo and who the hell is that man in Tanjiro's dream sequence that is at the village.

In regards to the village, I love that it's so cautious and secretive. It requires so many transports to get there to hide its identity and giving that sense of realism to it so it can't be found. It makes me curious because if this is the swordsmith village arc and assuming everything takes place here, how will the upper rank demons find them here? Maybe it's due to Tanjiro going on his scavenger hunt with Nezuko and going too far out, or hell maybe the man in Tanjiro's dream actually has something to do with the demons and is some informant but I'm just spitballing with that lol. It's interesting to see that Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu are split up right now. I'm assuming later in the season they'll be reunited at the village but I wonder what type of arcs they'll be given prior to that, and what'll lead them to the village given they're always together. Mitsuri had a fun introduction and the scene where her and Tanjiro were talking in the hallway about him fighting an upper rank was probably my favorite between the two, but I hope her character has more depth to it that's shown in the future considering right now she seems like the generic upbeat character. But I'm really looking forward to seeing her and Muichiro this season. Also it was great to see that the kid with the purple attire and the scars is actually related to Sanemi. I hope we find out why they both have similar scars and what path they went down to get them, and why their relationship seems to not be in the best shape.

But overall I did not expect to get this much in the first episode considering we got every upper rank demon revealed. While Tanjiro heading to the swordsmith village wasn't out of this world or anything, the opening scene most certainly was great to see, and I'm excited to see where this season goes considering the last 2 arcs were stellar and showed no signs of slowing down.

Great start!

This was a great way to start season 3! Already from first glance we are treated with some captivating animation, which reminds us, after the mindblowing season 2, that the quality has not droped at all! Instead a new bar has been set! It feels cinematic already!

The Upper Moon meeting in Infinity castle was my favorite part of the episode! Great too see the other Upper Moons animated! The animation here were also amazing with some great long takes, which already has me excited for Infinity castle arc!

The rest of the episode worked fine as aftermath from season two as well as setting up season three! Some cute moments and I sense we will get more focus on Tanjiro and Nezuko this season!

The opening was great and has me very excited for another cinematic season!

It's started!

Warning: Spoilers
The first half of this episode where they meet at infinity castle is amazing. The animation is some of the best I have ever seen and each demon has their own persona. Yet, the second half is overly comedic and almost undermines the amazing storytelling of the first half - it doesn't have to not be comedic but sometimes it over does it. Tanjiro makes his way to the sword smith village which will lead up to the next episodes hopefully containing some good action! I think the season will progressively get better, especially when we get some of the fight scenes with the demons and the hashira. High 8/10.

I've already watched this episode 3 times in theatres and I still can't get over it!

We start with the meeting and the eerie music that starts playing set chills down my spine and goosebumps of course! The way they take Akaza through the Infinity Castle and the places where we will see Doma and Kokushibo fight, loved the way they did it. I'm amazed by how imaginative they were with introducing every new Upper Rank Demon. They did justice to the Upper Moon Meeting. To keep us engaged in the story, we are introduced to Yoriichi and they perfectly portray the mystery around this man!

For the Village part, I feel they elevated how the manga introduced the village to us with all the character interactions, this couldn't get any better. They perfectly captured the vibe of the village. Amazing Episode!

The King of animation is back! BLOCKBUSTERLIKE

I live Deamon Dlayer for it's fresh story, the great characters and of course the phenomenal animation. This show has a clear goal to achieve (Killing Muzan) but it never gets boring because the journey to this goal is depicted perfectly. The last season's finale was a bit too long for me, but that is forgiven and forgotten because the premiere of the third season is brilliant and makes me looking forward to watch this show every week!

The swordsmith village arc is interesting and entertaining. We now get to pillars acompanning Tanjiro on a treasure hunt. This is great!

Ehat I also like to mention is the great outro of this episode, that fits perfectly to the topic of the swordsmith. All the katanas you see and then the special one at the end. It is a greatvtiny detail!

So that's said, I am hyped for next monday!!

An Amazing Start to an Amazing Season
Manjirou25 April 2023
There were 3 main parts to this 50 minute first episode.

1) The Upper Moon Meeting - Demon Slayer has always been amazing in the character design department. Every character is always so masterfully crafted; with designs that perfectly suit the character and always look so aesthetically pleasing. The Upper Moons are no exception. This meeting takes up about half of the first episode, and through amazing cinematography, and ufotable's legendary blending of 2D and 3D animation, incredible amounts of tension were built into every interaction. The splendor of the Infinity Castle is a sight to revel in, and I'm sure we'll be seeing much more of it in the future.

2) Someone's Dream - Tanjirou dreams of a past ancestor and his meeting with the mysterious swordsman, who the very thought of continues to haunt Muzan. Tanjirou's ancestor, Sumiyoshi, is the spitting image of Tanjirou, even wearing the same pattern on his haori. The swordsman seems to be very somber and upset about his circumstance. I hope the story will further develop his character and his importance to Tanjirou.

3) Recovery and the Journey to the Swordsmith Village - Plenty of adorable scenes and character interactions in this episode. One of my favorite aspects of Demon Slayer is how endearing the characters and the way they interact with each other are. Kanao was a standout this episode, and Inosuke is as hilarious as ever. You can always feel how much Inosuke looks up to Tanjirou and views him as his own big brother. Can't forget Gotou's reappearance! Tanjirou finally reunites with Genya, who still doesn't like Tanjirou at all. I'm hoping they grow as close as Inosuke and Zenitsu have to Tanjirou. He seems like a really amazing character and has an amazing aesthetic. We also got to see Mitsuri grow really close to both Tanjirou and Nezuko, while also leading them on a little treasure hunt.

Overall, this episode really pushed forward the plot, while also developing several characters for both Demons and Demon Slayers. This was a great start for me. This story is masterful at setting the tone, both comedic and serious.

Great starting episode

Warning: Spoilers
Good first episode. I didn't know it was a almost an hour long episode, so that was a pleasant surprise. We begin with The upper ranking demons meeting with Muzan about the defeat of gyutaro and we get the reveal of Kokushibo, muzan gives the upper ranks important news and missions. Afterwards Tanjiro has a strange dream of the past possibly and he wakes up after being in a coma for 2 months, he slowly begins training again while his friends have gone on missions. After a while Tanjiro leaves to swordsmith village, a village that's well hidden from people to keep it safe, so that he can get a new sword. He's informed to meet with the chief after he goes to the hot springs to relax. After a small look at the village on his way to the hot springs he and Mitsuri run into each other briefly and at the hot springs he finds genya. After dinner and the next day he walks into a confrontation between the mist hashira muichiro tokito and a kid with a someone that tanjiro finds familiar. Overall it was a good first episode. The animation is amazing and smooth, the design is great, the soundtrack is also as good as always. And I think this could be another great season. I'm interested and invested in this seasons story so far. I'm excited to see where this goes.

Something's Start

Warning: Spoilers
The beginning is really good and entertaining. New Charakters are set up for the new Arc, the village Swordsman Arc.

But for the Love of God, the tempo of this episode is so slow, that i really got sleepy during this Episode.

More or less we got absolut no further information, beside the reveal of the strongest demon moons. This feels "okay" for the first 10min of this episode , but for longer this episode goes i was feeling like "is there something else?". The pure truth of this question is NO.

We are waiting 50min for next interestings facts or plot twists and we are getting no action or no details. Im a little bit dissapointed, but im sure that this is just the start of a new really amazing season, because the visuals at the start were amazing.

3/10 action 4/10 story 7/10 demon Moons 8/10 picture and video 8/10 new intro.
