- Kallie's mother Danette Lutz is still looking for her and returns home to find Joe Mills waiting for her. He beats her and is long gone by the time the police arrive. The police do get a break in the case when they learn Mills had a storage locker. Holder and Linden check it out and find that Mills has been living there. They practically wrap up the case when they find trophies belonging to several of the dead girls. They're not prepared for what they find in the trunk of his taxicab. Ray Seward's execution is fast approaching. Linden finally gets permission to interview Seward's son Adrian and he identifies the killer. It doesn't add up however. Twitch and Lyric find a new place to live.—garykmcd
- Open with Danette returning home to find the front door open and her living room ransacked. She turns around and is face-to-face with Mills.
Linden and Holder wait at a school for a psychologist to arrive so she can speak with Adrian. They get a call about Danette.
At Danette's place she tells detectives it's possible he might have gone camping. She tells Linden about a storage unit which should contain maps of places he has camped in the past.
Seward leaves yet another message for Linden.
At the storage unit Linden spots a still-burning cigarette butt. They split up to make sure he can't get away. Mills runs into Linden and knocks her gun away. He begins pounding on her violently and starts to choke her. Holder hears this and rushes to her aid. Mills is placed in cuffs.
A cigar box filled with rings is found inside the storage unit. Linden recognizes that Bullet's necklace is among the items and rushes downstairs to find Holder, who is looking at Mills' cab. Holder pops the cab's trunk just as she arrives. Bullet's body is inside.
Mills is asking to speak with Danette. After Linden points out Kallie's ring is not among the ones found Skinner gives the go-ahead.
Caroline jumps into Holder's car and tells him that these kinds of things happen all the time. He yells that he's an addict and screams at her to get out.
Lyric tells Twitch that she's fond out he's been cleared by his PO. She also is able to get a government-subsidized apartment if she can find the down payment. Twitch tells her about Bullet.
Danette asks Mills what he did with Kallie. He swears he would never hurt anyone and asks her to help him get an attorney. Danette responds that she's spoke to Mills' mother, who told him what he did to the girls in the motel. Mills responds with a particularly creepy response about what he did to the girls being "nature." She attacks him and officers have to pull her off.
Linden speaks with Adrian. He says he saw the person who hurt his mother that night and picks Mills out of a group of pictures.
Linden arrives at the station and checks her messages. She finds five messages from Seward and is about to call him back when she spots Danette. Danette tells her a story about Mills that indicates he was in Alaska when Seward's wife was killed. Mills couldn't have done it.
Seward demands to use the phone again. Becker tells him that nobody is going to help him. As Seward panics his cell neighbor, Dale, begins to talk to him about hope.
Twitch surprises Lyric with a new apartment. He's paid the deposit and plans to stay in town and be with her.
Linden drops by Holder's place to comfort him. Linden is considering using Adrian's testimony to get Seward a stay of execution, even though she knows Mills didn't do it. She talks to him about it not being his fault and he awkwardly tries to kiss her. He apologizes and begins to sob.
In the yard Dale talks at length to Seward about his son and God. Seward breaks down and Dale start laughing. He has been screwing with him the entire time.
Henderson is told that Becker volunteered him to work Seward's execution.
Becker's arrive at home to find his son has shot one of his wife's boyfriends.
Holder is told that Bullet left numerous messages for him at the station the previous night and Reddick decided not to tell Holder. Holder goes to Reddick's home and punches him several times in front of his wife and daughter.
Skinner tells Linden there are four rings which still haven't been connected to missing girls. She tells him there is no connection between Seward's wife and Mills. He tells her he thinks she should stay on at the department.
Linden pulls up to the prison. She has the rings in her car.
