The Santa Monica-based producer of Storage Hunters and Container Wars has upped Rob Lobl to Evp Development and Current and announced Elyse Seder as VP Development. Lobl will oversee the development team at T Group Productions and will continue to provide creative oversight for all the company’s productions. He joined T Group in 2011 and has served as executive producer for more than 30 series, specials and pilots. Seder is tasked with generating new docuseries and creating original formats for U.S. broadcast and cable networks. TruTV has reportedly renewed Container Wars for a second season of 13 episodes, down from the first season's 16 episode order.
The first season of the reality series, which debuted in January, is still airing. The finale is scheduled for Sunday, September 22nd, at 9:30pm.
Container Wars follows "treasure hunters" as they go to commercial shipping ports to bid on what they hope are containers filled with big-ticket items. Participants include John Kunkle, Jason Hughes, Matthew Gaus, and Deana Molle.
