soft reboot that actually works!!!!
jtbiii-6625217 July 2023
From start to finish the character's new to old are instantly enjoyable with great interactions they do a great job of making Arin and Sora likeable protagonists and the many villains unlikeable. The merge is a well done and intriguing way to do a soft reboot. The story is a simple yet affective good vs evil story. The hero's trying to protect the dragons while the villains try to capture the dragons' simple right? It could have been a boring story, but the characters elevated the experience. The 16 realms merging worked to give the ninja new locations to go to with new allys and villains to fight while it also does have a bit of fetch quest style it doesn't drag on to long for the most part. The story isn't complete quite yet but once it is i would say i recommend this series to anyone trying to get into Ninjago's story but also longtime fans.

It is more than good !!

Warning: Spoilers
The new lego Ninjago series is really worth watching and here are a few reasons why I love it.

A few years ago, I started following this series again. I had watched everything so I was up to date again and came to the very last series: which was then the newly announced ninjago crystalised. I was very hyped for this but I didn't super like crystalised: it felt too cheesy. But then came dragons rising!

1. It felt like a new beginning and I needed that.😍 2. So more attention was paid to the visuals. And more focus on character development.

3. The newly introduced characters create a different dynamic, with Lloyd, for example, becoming much more sensible.

3. The makers also managed to fix some detail errors from previous seasons (for example, why Kai underwent almost no character development when his sister disappeared into the water). 🙂 4. The new merged intersection is a really great place where many things from previous seasons come back.

5 And of course Clutch powers.... 👀

Story like I've never seen before in this show
JDennisX1 June 2023
The story was absolutely amazing, I have never seen anything quite so unique in ninjago before especially with dragons, they changed the story in so many ways but kept the core values that makes ninjago, ninjago. It does a good job at keeping the viewer engaged wether they are an adult like myself or a child, unlike before where they story and fight sequences were completely predictable even for me when I was a child. The show has also introduced a completely new concept to the show that was completely unknown previously but still fits the main story line, I won't go into spoilers but it's a great time investment for both kids and adults.

Good introduction to a promising series.
adelnasser-6099819 June 2023
Don't let some of the reviews fool you. Some of them bring up points like "the storyline is somewhat rushed", but they seem to forget that this is the first part of the first season, so the character and story arcs are not completed yet. The finale is great and leaves on a good note with the villian still intact and new concepts and lore which are introduced.

Although I don't specifically agree with some of the new concepts introduced like new elemental powers, I can get behind it.

I do think the merge is one of the best things to happen to the series mostly because it enriches it, and adds a plethora of ideas for the show. The show has been drying up for some time, and this was very needed.

This series is comedic and funny at times but also emotional when it needs to be and it all comes together for an enjoyable season of Ninjago.

However their are issues, that mostly lie in the pacing which can be slow or fast. Particularly the first half which I found to be a little to slow. It was enjoyable but the first 3 episodes don't really contribute all that much to the overall plot. They're still good introductions to the characters and the new merged world, but I wish it had a little more to do with the overarching plot.

Some of the new characters introduced were great. My favorite new character so far has to be sora. An emotional backstory, filled with betrayals, and her backstory directly contributes to the plot.

Imperium is an amazing villian empire, because we know how it works, what the people think about think about the place, and how they are brainwashed to obey empress beatrix because of their upbringing.

I'm quite impressed with the series considering one of the main writers (Tommy Andreas) has left the series, and it could be hard to fill his gap, but I think kevin Burke and doc Wyatt did great jobs.

Overall this is a very beefy season, that leaves a lot of room for future storylines and seasons, and introduces some good lore and amazing characters, while also not forgetting to leave the ninja behind.

Ninjago is BACK and STRONGER THAN EVER
sevenfourseven-74710 December 2023
I was blown away by the first season of Ninjago: Dragons Rising. After multiple, what I think are failed seasons produced in Ninjago from 2019-2022, the show is BACK, and PACKS A PUNCH! The 22 minute episode format is back again, which I think is great, and fits the show really well. The graphics and details are exceptional and top notch, in what I think are the best graphics in all of the previous seasons of Ninjago. The new main characters of Arin, Sora, and Wyldfyre, and the antagonists of Lord Ras and Emperor Beatrix are exceptionally well written, giving me great hope for future seasons of this show. The soundtrack is awesome and carries the show greatly, as always. The plot does not seem rushed as in the other episodes in the Wildbrain era, and the plot builds and stacks up in a great way. The lore of Ninjago is deepened by a great extent by the events of the Merge, which opens up a lot of new opportunities. Overall, this might be the best season behind those in the Oni trilogy (Sons of Garmadon, Hunted, March of the Oni). Definitely 10/10 stars from me, can't wait to what new stuff this show has to offer.

All of a sudden script change
isabelhoy-266752 July 2023
I am very happy about the second part of season one of Lego Ninjago: Dragons Rising but I am confused because just like a week ago they changed all of the scripts to episodes eleven too twenty because almost all of the episodes before were about Nadakahn returning like the episode's name 'Jin and tonic' but now you made a last minute change to the scrip which is making me confused. Like I am happy that Nadakhn is not returning but... why change all of that script which must of taken days to make and just change it. Why please just tell me why you made a huge change to the script of the last ten episodes last minute?

An Excellent show for old and new fans!
1grains9 April 2024
Ninjago: Dragons Rising is a great show with lots of character, charm, depth and epic action scenes. If you have never watched Ninjago before this would be a great place to start since S1 is very good and S2 so far has improved on that and continues to be awesome.

Arin and Sora who bounce off each other very well, also represent different views of the people who watch the show. Arin is a super ninja fan who looks up to the legendary ninja and knows every little thing about them (the people who have watched ninjago since the start). Sora is the tech genius who has never seen them before or know who they are (represents people whos only exposure to ninjago is DR). It is very clever of the writers to do that, since they reintroduce the ninja later on in S1 which causes Sora to like them due to how cool they are. It also helps that they are very likeable protagonists.

The merging of the 16 realms was also such a good idea since it allows for more stories that couldn't have been possible before. S2 continues to prove that since it dives into the consequences of the realms merging with Lord Ras trying to unleash evil through a blood moon ritual.

This show is so good and more people should be watching it! The animation is also stellar, it looks like moving concept art at times. The fight scenes in S2 are SO EPIC. If you are a fan of cartoons, or animation in general, don't let the fact that its LEGO put you off watching it, because S2 gets very dark at times and they also touch on the topic of mental health in it too. Such a good show.

Probably the WORST season to date
grnytgt10 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I honesty hate this season to the point where I would say I like day of the departed more the story makes no sense and there is no sense of time how long before Lloyd woke up how long ago was the merge and where is jay cole skylar pixel and harumi and the music is horrid and it's a sequel so I put it next to rise of skywalker it's so bad they could have done so much better it's a horrible idea to take away the most loved characters and add a second master of fire? After for 15 years they said only one master of a element at a time and tech isn't a element it's man made the idea of the season L.

Perfect
puffins-167895 April 2024
This show is amazing, as someone who has been watching ninjago for over a decade, I was worried about all the new changes in this series, however I am so pleasantly surprised. Its such a fun and enjoyable show with great messages and characters. The writing is amazing and very enjoyable, im 18 years old and love this show. The show is so entertaining and funny and enjoyable. Season 1 was amazing overall and super fun and wholesome. Season 2 was amazing too, with a very entertaining story. This season was much darker than season 1 which appeals alot to older kids/teenagers/people. Season 2 had many positive messages about caring for yourself and others

The only thing is that although season 1 is good for all ages, for season 2, I would reccomend ages 9+ because the season is alot darker and scarier and might scare young kids.

Good Ideas, but extremely rushed storytelling.
Kuxhenritter15 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Ok, so bringing in new characters is a great thing, because they did so many twists and turns in the last seasons, but now they have that desperately needed refreshment in material. Also it means unfortunately having to put aside some old ones, which is sad but acceptable.

What I don't get is why they just rushed so much with all the new storylines. They have so much loaded in their think-tank and they just let it all out immediately, instead of sprinkeling it over two or more seasons like in the very beginning with garmadon, the snakes and the ultra-evil.

The show us all the bad guys from the whole chain of command, and don't really explain who they are like who is the black lion, why is he the only lion etc. Also the empress is really hollow in my opinion, without build-up, she comes onto the battlefield, shouts random stuff and is really more a of a joke than a threat, although she is supposed be the boss.

Furthermore the whole zane reactivation/teleportation/monastery mess came out of the blue and I didn't understand anything about it. That was the most random happening in all ninjago seasons by far, only to get a big (yet completely unnecessary) end fight which featured ridiculously slow, walking-speed flying dragons.

Kai also got a huge nerf, getting a random girl on his side mastering fire immediately. I mean please, you have new characters, so introduce them weak and undeveloped, because they are supposed to be new main characters, so we as audience should grow, suffer and root with/for them.

All in all so much potential somewhat waisted by giving us finished heros instead of new, exciting people with strengths and weaknesses that we can relate and connect to.

Seemed like they followed a to-do list from wikipedia on how to make an ok at most season instead of the 'how to make great new series'-tutorial from the industry.

THIS is how you make a pre-reboot
agojirafan17 March 2024
So far Dragons Rising Seasons 1 & 2 dropped, and I gotta say that Seasons 1 & 2 of Dragons Rising are some of the best seasons of Ninjago ever produced. The story isn't rushed at all as it actually takes its time to fully flesh out the characters and the stories, speaking of the characters: There are a bunch of newly introduced characters in this pre-reboot, even 3 brand new members for the ninja team. All 3 of them are well-written and are actually likeable characters. There's also a baby/teenager dragon called Riyu in the team, which is like the baby yoda/baby groot of Ninjago right now.

Speaking of the old ninja, they're also still in this show as a huge part of it, and they aren't entirely sidelined. If they are sidelined, then that is simply a buildup for the future of Ninjago (Dragons Rising seasons 3, 4, 5 etc.) The villains are also cool except for a few which I think are just meh.

And the animation. Oh. My. Goodness.

That animation is absolutely phenomenal. It's genuinely so visually beautiful, so beautiful to the point where you'll forget that this is a LITERAL LEGO SHOW ABOUT RAINBOW NINJA MINIFIGURES. That's how good the animation is.

Overall, this is one of the best things that has ever happened to Ninjago after a horrible finale season (Season 15/Crystalized) and I am so happy that a great childhood show like Ninjago is still on its toes running for more and greater content to bring.

I hate it
fanfgachaclub29 November 2023
I don't like the new season. They took away everything that made ninjago special away. They took almost all the cast except for a few out and Jay and Cole barley show up in the show. I have been watching ninjago for 8 years and hate the new reboot and what the show has become. The last reboot was amazing but the dragons rising sucks. I really wish they would just put it back to how it used to be with all the ninja, the og elemental masters, and garamadon being present.

Almost no characters are still there like Dareth, skylor and pixel. It's almost like they made a new show. It doesn't feel like ninjago anymore.

Why did kai go
philipontopn9 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
I think it bad cause in the end kai should have not end up in a real that him might not get out of for a while. I now that the majority of people like kai why could it have been Lloyd or something. At the end I was crying cause kai was suppose to be the main character but Lloyd steal the show and then kai braly had a focus season and you want him to give his life.

And how come Aaron didn't get a power like wasn't the whole show about them. Like you could have give him a power like light or dark.

The way kai got the dragon rising was so cool it show how much the invest into kai and nya life story.

Ninjago
NINJAGO Dragon rising is so rubbish and Trash Tv show it doesn't even feel like Ninjago anymore I don't really like the ninjas new faces I prefer the old faces the old faces is so much better The ninjas doesn't even uses Airjitzu anymore All of the Ninjas has changed. Kai doesn't take anything very seriously anymore he so lazy he has terrible jokes he use to be a Amazing and Matured character Season 1 to Season 7 everyone loves the Old Kai. He stop being serious, lazy and weak in season 8-17 his hair is Brown chicken poop everyone hates the New Kai and his Season 1-7 hair is so sick and Awesome 😎😎. Next one the blue ninja Jay voice went to squeaky and babyish in Season in Season 11 Jay jokes is so terrible he use to be funny in Season 1-7 and Stop being funny in Season 8 and his hair is so messy I liked his old hair . Next one the Black Ninja Cole's hair is so ugly and disgusting 🤢. Next one white ninja Zane is fine I have no issues with him. Next one the water Ninja I have no problem with Nya she is acting more mature which is fantastic. Next one the Green Ninja Lloyd is always get getting his own seasons nowadays he stole the spotlight from Kai. It's always about Lloyd I get that he is the leader of the team but they need to let another ninja to take the stoplight this time . Kai needs more development he use to be the main character in ninjago now he is he is least development character in Ninjago now they need to sort that out and it's all thanks to the movie they ruined ninjago whole franchise I really want them to changed back to the Ninjas original design I love the Old Ninjago tv show it's so much better than the new one.

ABSOLUTE TRASH
gfilippi-9181114 April 2024
This show IS NOT WORTH IT. I don't recommend watching it. The first 7 seasons or so on the old show of Ninjago were good, but the new ones are not the same. The characters all go to hell, and it's not even the same anymore. They add new characters that help the show LOOSE EFFECT. The movie designs and the old designs are both great, but they DO NOT GO TOGETHER. They are both different and good in their own way, but were ruined in the making of the new seasons and the new shows. I refuse to let my kids watch the new Ninjago. Re making something is not how you make something that is good and view worthy. It sucks. Don't watch it.
