Amazing work
tavassoli1118 March 2024
"Witte Wieve," directed by Didier Konings, stands out as an exceptional piece within the Dutch indie film scene, particularly considering its modest budget.

The film boasts A-grade cinematography and visual effects, alongside compelling performances that vividly bring the narrative to life. Its atmosphere and scene setting are meticulously crafted, enhancing the authenticity of the ancient Dutch dialect used, which adds depth to the storytelling. This film not only showcases the potential of its creative team but also builds anticipation for future projects from Konings, especially with the prospect of higher budget productions on platforms like Netflix or Prime.

Amazing Dutch movie
koen-9316119 March 2024
It was about time that a Dutch filmmaker with a vision managed to upgrade the dutch film industry to a level of international allure. What an outstanding well made movie with amazing visual effects. I didn't expect in the serie of genre movies (it is part of 'Koolhoven presents') there would be a diamond appearing in the last movie of the series. Un-dutch I would say.

Props to the well casted actors, especially a big applause to Anneke Sluiters and the newcomer Len Leo Vincent, who made this movie with their Old Lower-Saxon accents one of a kind.

Finally, I have some new found high hopes for Dutch film, go Didier Konings!

The VVitch ripoff
misih-6759426 March 2024
I imagine the other reviews on here are by the crew.

Sorry but this feels so much like The VVitch but not as good. Girl gets her powers from the dark forces in the woods and ends up embracing them. Its exactly the same.

Some very odd choices here by the director. Its really low budget and it feels it. The story telling is also confusing at times. Its also really short for a feature and lacks any real arc. I watched it in a group and we were all bored 10 mins into it.

They probably did as much as they could but it doesn't really go anywhere and it all falls apart in the third act. I didn't buy the characters or the acting.
