Great season opener

Warning: Spoilers
I love the show. It's different, it's got unique characters, and it keeps a great pace. Season two episode one is a great way to open a season. My only disappointment was with the death of Cricket. I know why they did it, I just think that they could have let her survive and still set up the tension in Will for the next several episodes. I REALLY liked her character and thought they had great chemistry. I would have loved to see that relationship develop a little before they killed her off. I like where they picked up with the rest of the cast and I enjoyed the addition of Franklin. I hope that they keep building this ensemble out a little, it's a great cast and I think that it all works better when they focus is spread out a little on the different members of the team. I only subtracted 2 points because the bomb squad death was so foreseeable.

Fly Cricket Fly

Warning: Spoilers
I agree with the general consensus that Cricket should've stayed in the storyline a little bit longer. The actress who played her was on point with her character. I liked her immediately in the story. Cricket was just the right amount of assertive that she would have been a nice challenge for Will.

In addition, this was a great way to kick off the season. A lot of action and following up on plots left open from last season made this an enjoyable episode to watch. I too would like to see Will move onto other love interests in the season. A break from the dysfunctional relationship with Angie would be a good way to see him grow more as an individual.

I really enjoy watching this supporting cast. Hope this season stays up to the same level as the opening episode.

Normally Would give a 9 or 10 But

Warning: Spoilers
Finally back on the air and was so excited to see Clark Gregg and Susan Kelechi in this episode. When it finally looks like Will is finally moving on from Angie (I am actually tired of their "relationship") with Cricket the Bomb expert, they kill her off. On the first episode!

I'm sorry but Angie is a skank who needs some serious help, but away from Will. Are they trying to get me to stop watching the show?!

😒

Other than that, the episode was just, alright. I can't think of anything else to type except can we focus more on the crime solving then the soap opera drama? 🙄

Oh it is funny that Will is trying to learn spanish althought in real life Ramón can speak it fluently.

in memoriam -- Cricket we hardly knew you

Warning: Spoilers
This is a type of review I have never done in any of my 2000+ IMDb writeups -- in memoriam for the character of Cricket, so well portrayed by Susan Kelechi Watson that you could argue the series, as good as it us, will actually suffer from her loss. With her, it could have been even better. Hey, this is TV. Characters come and go. The original STAR TREK (anyone remember?) had a running joke about the weekly Sacrificial Crew Member. But this show is all about heart and Cricket had that, in spades. She will be missed. Also, the episode finally clarifies the identity of the most dangerous weekly villains in the series WILL TRENT -- the writers! ((Designated "IMDb Top Reviewer."
