- As bad as it is that Peter has discovered his mother is working as a sexual surrogate, it's even worse when he has to defend her in court after she is arrested for prostitution.
- Open with Bash getting a call that his mother Coleen has been arrested for prostitution.
At the jail Coleen tells the guys her new job is being a sex surrogate. She says she doesn't have sex with "most of my clients." The undercover officer asked for sex in exchange for money and she said "we'll see." During their encounter she stripped down to a thong and was arrested.
Franklin pays a visit to the assistant DA prosecuting Coleen, a woman named Emily who has hated him for years. She seems fine asks her supervisor if she can drop the charges and for some reason this conversation leads to the two going to her place for sex.
In the office Franklin tells Bash and Infeld what happened with Emily. Emily then shows up to tell them her supervisor won't let her drop the case against Coleen.
At the courthouse the guys run into Emily's supervisor, assistant DA Hewitt. Hewitt and Bash have a bad history while working at a private firm. Hewitt helped get Bash fired.
Rachel pops into Karp's office and tells him she's heard of a judge who will be retiring soon. They think if he gets a recommendation from him he'll have the inside track to replace him.
Bash puts the detective who busted his mother on the stand. During Emily's cross she looks back at Hewitt, then dismisses the charge and says she is charging her with a more serious crime, pandering.
Outside the courtroom the guys tell Rachel that things aren't going well. Bash thinks Hewitt has it in for him and she thinks it sounds like malicious prosecution. She suggests that Franklin exploit his relationship with Emily to get information.
Franklin and Emily have sex again. Afterwards he goes through her private notes and makes a quick call to Bash.
Karp has dinner with the retiring judge. He tells Karp to meet him Wednesday so he can introduce him to some people who would be helpful if he wants to succeed him.
Franklin asks Pindar to find out everything he can about Tim Lawson, a person who appeared on Emily's client list.
Bash tells Coleen he thinks she can avoid prison if she turns over her client list. She says she can't do it, because honesty with her client is what makes her job so great.
Pindar learns that Lawson doesn't actually exist. He's a fake name being used by Harrison Gingold, the DA of Los Angeles.
Gingold tells the guys it wasn't him, somebody else wants him out of his job. But despite that fact, he isn't willing to help Colleen out and plans to invoke executive privilege if he's subpoenaed to testify.
The guys get a court order requiring Colleen to turn over her client book.
Rachel tells Coleen she should turn over her book. Coleen asks her to have a drink with her.
Ellen meets the guys at a bar. She's furious at them for looking through her notes and going to Gingold, but says Hewitt has pulled her off the case. She apologizes to Bash but says there is nothing she can do.
Coleen starts talking to Rachel about her personal life. This leads to them kissing at the exact moment the guys walk in. They listen to Coleen interact with a client over the phone and Bash says he has an idea.
The retiring judge tells Karp he wants to be set up with Rachel.
In court the guys argue Coleen's book should be covered under doctor-client privilege. The law has never been used in defense of sexual surrogates and the guys want to make new law. The judge seems okay with this as long as Coleen takes the stand.
Franklin is late to court, so Bash is forced to question Coleen. Coleen talks about what she typically does with her clients, which doesn't have a ton to do with sex. The judge rules that Coleen may keep her book.
Karp asks Rachel about the date with the judge. She tells him to fix the situation.
Emily is being punitively transferred to a different department. On her way out she copied some of Hewitt's files. They are incriminating, but the guys don't know how they could get them into evidence since they were obtained illegally and Hewitt is entitled to executive privilege.
The guys call Hewitt to the stand. They've had Gingold demote Hewitt and transfer him, so he can now be called to testify. Hewitt quickly drops the charges against Coleen.
Infeld meets with the judge on Karp's behalf. He threatens to reveal some unflattering information if he doesn't back off and give Karp his blessing.
Emily has been promoted. Franklin hears she is going out with another lawyer and seems a jealous.
At the party Bash tells Coleen he's proud of her and what she does.
