Sucks you in with its unique style, visuals and themes!

Im really surprised on how solid this first episode was and how invested i became by the end, to the point that I just wanna watch the next right away!

I love how dedicated the creators are to Japanese culture doing this time period and spending time to explain to us how life was back then!

I am really sold on the character of Mizu as her story is very unique and compelling and this episode gives you a pretty good idea on who she is! At this point I am rooting for her! While it is obvious that we dont know everything about her yet, the balance of information and mystery around her is great!

The other characters are great as well and I am excited to see where things are going from here!

The animation and visuals are gorgeous! Every scene is something of beauty and the fights are very well done!

This feels like something special and I am glad I descided to watch it!

Seems original enough.

Warning: Spoilers
The voice of the protagonist gave it away initially that the blue eyed boy was in fact a blue eyed girl but there were still some doubts about it because of the way the episode is written. The visuals are beautiful and characters seem detailed and deep enough so far. The first episode is certainly quite engaging. It makes you want to watch the second episode. There is a scene towards the end of the episode where you see the naked body of the protagonist and she is beautiful. There is full frontal nudity. Breasts are clearly visible but the genitels are covered by a thick bush. There's a montage of the events that are about to unfold in the later episodes of the series and I like that style. Haven't watched it in any of the recent animes or any other shows to be honest.

one of the best shows on Netflix now

I'm really struggling to find enough to watch on Netflix to justify a subscription and I'm letting it lapse but before that happens, I'm watching the whole season of this series, which is an amazing throwback to the days when Netflix produced gems like Bojack Horseman.

I'm usually not into the whole samurai thing, watching stylized and bloody battles. But wow, the animation is just gorgeous. The story is the standard sort of revenge quest, with the twist that the lead character is "mixed breed" and female. The historical setting also makes it different.

The voice cast is packed with stellar talent: George Takei, Masi Oka, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Randall Park, Kenneth Branagh.

You could quibble about the details. Genetically speaking, a person with a full Japanese mother should have brown eyes, assuming she isn't the carrier of a random blue-eyed gene mutation, which could result in a full Japanese person having blue eyes, which isn't really in the spirit of the thing.

Why would all four of the white men who could be her father still be in xenophobic Japan? How exactly does this slender young woman kick the butts of every guy she meets, even when fighting multiple highly trained attackers? Being half-white does not give her superpowers!

But since it's animation, we can use fairy-tale logic to skirt over all those issues. This is a terrific show, off to a great start.

The Samurai who was not human

A nice episode but......

Im quite disappointed of the story : Yes , we are pretty curious about about the main character and how he become who he is . Yes , we have that past who make us understand what the Samurai was and why he is that different .

The animations are really good and the visuals are pleasant to the eyes and make it quite interesting during the fights with the swords.

But the story was a little bit disappointing : only a quest of vengeance really feel just an excuse to make these beautiful animations and visuals . But still interesting enough to keep us curious until the end of the episode .

Good but clearly need to see more and i expect something more deep or complex from the story or characters but all good for now .

The nudity scenes look great and didnt bothered me and was kind of funny with the guy who followed always the main character .

I will see more before judging , it was only one episode.
