- When the man who's believed to have hidden a priceless diamond during a failed heist is killed, his straight and narrow brother and dying sister-in-law are soon the targets of the drug cartel, who are desperate to track it down.
- The release of Jack Bennett, an ex-con who was paramount in the robbery of a priceless Saudi Arabian relic, The Azraq, sets the landscape for a deadly chase to find it. Magnus Rees, a long-sought-after mastermind behind several robberies, headed the team; but was a mere pawn under the control of the head of the Mexican drug cartel, Manuel Luis Loero. When the heist goes sideways, Loero's plan to exact revenge on the Saudi government is halted.
As the only member of the heist to have escaped the scene, and with the diamond still missing, Jack's the only lead to tracking it down. Upon his release, a powerful lineup of men set a plan in motion to get answers and keep the Azraq permanently out of the hands of its owners.
But when the efforts to extract information from Jack goes awry and he's killed, the team sent to find the Azraq find themselves at a dangerous dead end. With Loero and his men awaiting answers in the shadows, the hired crew must go to desperate measures to find the diamond.
Meet Tom and Sara Bennett, Jack's older, straighter and narrower brother and sister-in-law. They're kind, gentle, loving and far removed from any of Jack's influences. Sara's in the late stages of cancer and has made the decision to stop her treatments. The two of them present as the couple we all know and aspire to be, but who battle with the reality of her impending death. They're authentic, relatable and exist on emotionally frail terrain.
The night before Jack dies, the three of them plan to meet at the family cabin on Adam Lake near a small Colorado mountain town called Rock Creek. It's an innocent, last minute plan that all three of them need. A weekend away in the quiet remote forests to catch up, rest, drink and rejuvenate.
When the henchmen learn that Jack's brother and sister-in-law have holed up in a location that's the perfect place to hide something valuable, it seems like an easy close. Yet when the team track them down, they're met with a vigor only found when all hope is lost, and the bonds of family are mightier than the depravity that threatens it.
