Very Engaging

My wife and I were very pleased with this addition to the "Jeopardy" line-up and looked forward to each episode. The relaxed comradery of the contestants and Ken Jennings just added to the overall "watchability" of the show.

There was one point that we thought a distraction: the importance of the "daily doubles" to the contestants' score weighed too heavily on the outcome. This factor was evident in almost every run-away game where one contestant couldn't be toppled from first place without them doing something untoward with the final bet (which none did).

There needs, we feel, to be some adjustment to the format for this top level competition to remove the randomness of the daily doubles. Maybe make these squares 5,000 points or cap the bet at 5,000 (a difference without a distinction).

We look forward to the next iteration of "Jeopardy Masters".

I have watched "Jeopardy!" from its earliest days, when Art Fleming was the host. And I am enjoying this version of the game more than any other.

First of all, there are some prodigious talents manning the buzzers. They actually make the questions look easy, despite the fact that they are obviously tackling answers that are more difficult than usual.

Secondly, these players know each other and they have a pleasing rapport. The good-natured ribbing, combined with real respect for each other's talents, make for enjoyable viewing.

Finally, Ken Jennings is the best host for this series, because he also has great rapport with and respect for the players.

As James Holzhauer would say, "I am all in" for this show. And if they ever think about doing this again, I say "Bring it!"

Ken Jennings has become great at hosting!

This series was a lot of fun though it seemed a bit long to me. I enjoyed seeing the six top contestants and learning a little bit about them. James Holzhauer seemed like a total jerk at first and I have not liked him on The Chase and eventually as I learned more about him and his interest and his youth I really grew to enjoy him as well. I think I'll give The Chase another chance!

I can't believe how good Ken Jennings has become at hosting! I think he makes Alex Trebek look horrible and he really had gotten terrible over the years, compared to how cute and fun and witty he was in the beginning. I guess you'd have to have watched it forever, like me, to make that comparison. Ken is fresh like Alex was 20 years ago before he became cranky and insulting to the contestants.

I'm very excited about both Ken and Mayim hosting because they each bring such different things to the show although right now I think Ken is doing a better job at hosting because he seems more light and funny as for Mayim is really serious. Secondly I'm kind of enjoying the consistency of Ken's look for the moment, until I get bored, as where Mayim's changes each show. I think maybe she should go with some brighter colored suits and stay consistent in the style like Meredith Vieira does on 25 Words Or Less.

I think Ken did a great job of hosting Jeopardy Masters! I loved googling him and seeing pictures of him and his family and his adorable son, who looks just like him! His daughter who looks just like his beautiful wife! It's just fun to get to know about people.

I'm really shocked to see that they're being paid so little compared to what Alex Trebek was paid. I mean how can you justify paying them $1 million each when he was paid $18 million just for one person? I guess it's all about ratings which dictates the advertising dollars brought in although we know from the crash in 2009 that can change a lot based on the economy which is kind of bad right now, post Covid. I don't think it's any 1/6 of what it was though which means the show owners might be taking advantage of these two, a little bit, not that $1 million is a bad starting salary but they are each giving their time and doing a good job! Actually doing a great job, doing a much better job than any host who has done it before, as far as I'm concerned! I know I will get arguments about that but they're nice, they're happy, they're friendly, they're positive, they're doing a good job!

Awesome

With these particular contestants, even though questions for players like these keep most of Americans in the dark as far as playing along. The interplay betwixt the contestants remains sharp and engaging. You can tell there is a healthy amount of mutual respect going on here and that is Kinda heartwarming and makes you wanna be smart enough to hang out in the green room with these guys and with "KJ" hosting makes this truly wonderful for any fan of Jeopardy. I don't write a lot of reviews on IMDB and I can not treally beleive I am writing one on Jeopardy, but this Version of jeopardy is the most "entertained" I've been for the show.

Jennings the Best!
daxe-9369025 May 2023
High caliber human beings. Great idea for the us hard-core. Jennings makes everything work. Rare is a person so suited for the job as Ken.

His timing, his remarks, his gentility. Everything screams that this man was destined to do what he does!

It would be good if the young lady who also hosts would take a few ideas from his style. Her timing is so awkward when she will pause before saying that the answer is correct. Unnerving to the watchers and I would think the players as well.

Of course, the writers deserve credit for their questions, or rather answers. They deserve to be introduced.

Again, Jennings is the Best!

What is "Show that Jumped the Shark"
amexspam22 May 2023
The answer is Jeopardy.

It was a good show under Art Fleming, it was even better with Alex Trebek. It began to slide when the gimmick of videos was used to ask questions - dragging out and stopping the momentum. It got worse when the contestants figured out how to game the game, which often resulted in one player having such an insurmountable early lead that the other two might as well have gone home after round one.

To get some quick bucks, the company added the joke that was Celebrity Jeopardy and now, scraped bottom by basically having a reunion tour of the recent best players, because the regular audience does not like the new hosts.
