Excellent!

Devil's Den is an excellent beginning to the story of Nick Adams. From start to finish you will be engaged, wondering what will happen with Nick next. It starts off in a cryptic way, with haunting music that builds a feeling of suspense that will be felt by the viewer throughout the entire film. The changes that you see from Nick from the beginning of the film until the second part of it will leave you wondering what happened in that three-year span. It is evident that Nick is suffering from PTSD from the horrors of war, and it makes you wonder what happened during his time in the military. The setting stays the same, but something changed within Nick.

Overall, this short film was a great experience from beginning to end and I can't wait to hear the whole Nick Adams story!

Make this a full movie!

This short film to me turned out to be one of the most bone chilling short films I have ever watched. It may be a non verbal film but it does an exceptional job at capturing your attention and in its own way telling the story perfectly, the atmosphere just has that kind of I want to keep on watching and see what happens next vibe. It does a great job on focusing on what thousands or even millions of veterans go through on a daily basis, and just emphasizes the repercussions of what happens in the fields of war. All that aside the shots in the film itself are beautiful, and the editing aswell was exceptional. If it were a full movie by the same producers/cast it would definitely be on my watch list! Well done.

Devil's Den, a short film crafted by Zac Counts, delves into the tale of Nick Adams, an enigmatic figure who revisits the wilderness of his childhood as a war-scarred veteran. As the opening chapter of a series, the film showcases Nick's exploration of familiar terrain, but a sense of unease and paranoia begins to consume him.

The initial installment of this series brims with promise, presenting numerous intriguing avenues for future development. Although the story remains somewhat incomplete at this stage, the groundwork laid by this introductory narrative leaves ample room for anticipation. I eagerly await the continuation of this series, curious to discover the ultimate fate of our protagonist.
