they are on fire this season!

Warning: Spoilers
After S3 started to drag and S4 really started to drag, I was worried that the rather thin premise of "laugh at the fish-out-of-water vampires" has run its course but this show has defeated the odds and turned things around. How many shows have their best seasons this far into the run?

This was yet another display of wacky insane antics, some of the best yet (maybe even better than Sean & friends going berserk and doing donuts in a stolen cop car). Plus we get some real emotional heft in Guillermo's possibly final visit to his human family, of course interrupted by his toxic job. I hope the de la Cruz family will eventually be integrated more into the show, especially Grandma and Cousin Miguel.

Anchorman 3

A really fun and funny episode again this week,

The vampires are worried that they have been exposed as Nandor said on live tv he has lived there for centuries, not knowing it's one of the more normal things said on Staten Island local news, they go true many plans to stop the people knowing their true identities. Guirllmeo is struggling to tell his family about his current state.

A funny one all around, picked up from last week, I like that we are getting all the main characters in every episode, Colin is always around which I like, overall a funny one and I'm loving this season !! Looking forward to the next one.

My favorite episode ending

Warning: Spoilers
I can't love this episode enough. The transition to the news station and the subsequent broadcast was easily the funniest piece of writing and acting I've seen on this show, and that's saying a lot. I was crying laughing for 10 minutes straight. Their awkward transition on camera that slowly grew confident was another beautiful piece of writing and directing.

And what made it brilliant was the set up throughout the episode. Every character (especially Collin Robinson's energized and panicked body movements) wigged out in fashion to the crisis. The only thing missing was Jackie Daytona.

I'm ready for another news cast!

suck me dry cuz life is too much...

"The entire cast is absolutely fantastic. I found the actors to be exceptionally skilled, and I truly appreciated their humor and depth. This show just makes me crave a crossover with 'The Office' and 'What We Do in the Shadows' - perhaps a one-time spin-off where Colin Robinson would undoubtedly shine, hahaha.

Overall, I'm thoroughly enjoying and loving the laughter this show brings. I genuinely hope it garners a following akin to 'The Office.' I'm content knowing that 'What We Do in the Shadows' exists and delighted to see positive ratings, especially considering the impact COVID-19 has had on how we watch television and write reviews." Like everyone is a fudging yelper lol.

Fang-tastic Faux Pas

"Local News," the fifth episode of "What We Do in the Shadows" Season 5, is a comedic masterpiece that deserves nothing less than a perfect score. This episode brilliantly captures the essence of the show, combining supernatural elements with the mundane to create a laugh-out-loud experience that resonates with audiences.

Kayvan Novak continues to shine as Nandor the Relentless, delivering a performance that is both commanding and hilariously out of touch. His portrayal in "Local News" is a highlight, as he navigates the pitfalls of modern media with a delightful blend of confusion and charisma.

Matt Berry, as the ever-entertaining Laszlo Cravensworth, steals the show with his impeccable comedic instincts. In "Local News," Berry's talent for turning the most bizarre situations into comedic gold is on full display, further cementing his status as a fan favorite.

In summary, "Local News" is an exceptional episode that showcases the best of what "What We Do in the Shadows" has to offer. The performances by Kayvan Novak and Matt Berry are standout, ensuring that this episode will be remembered as one of the series' best. A resounding 10 out of 10 for an episode that delivers laughs, thrills, and a touch of the macabre with unparalleled finesse.

Warning: Spoilers
It is a show about vampires and it is a comedy, so you have to assume it is going to be extremely goofy in nature, but this episode kicked things up a notch. This felt like a modern take on Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie just without the laugh track.

There were some moments in this that were funny, but this is beneath the show in every possible argument you can make.

This used to be a substantitive program but right now it feels like they are going for cheap laughs at the expense of quality storytelling.

We'll see if the season can recover, but so far Season 5 is not off to a good start at all.
