American Idol does the feel good stories and moments better than most of the other programs in this field. That has been the case for a long time and they get you close to emotional almost every time they do it.
There were some really solid performances here including Mackenzie Sol who was great. I don't know if there is a breakout star that I will look forward to watching each week and following their journey after the show is over though. That is what they have struggled to truly capitalize on and come up with for most of the ABC run for American Idol, although I guess Maddie Poppe can qualify.
