This film marks Jay Salia's debut as a director, writer, editor, producer and sound designer.
Major portions of the film were shot in a 5-day schedule in mid-February 2021. It faced several COVID-19 pandemic-led restrictions which included the cancellation of schedules, the lapse of location permissions, and the omission of an entirely sketched-out third storyline. Had the third storyline been shot, the film's duration would have come to an estimated 45 minutes turning this "short" into a feature-length film.
Actress Vrushti Shah, the director's frequent collaborator, was the first to be approached for Chhaya's role opposite Ujjwal (Krish Sanena) as the pair had already acted in a commercial together before (with the same director) but couldn't commit due to scheduling conflicts.
The film is loosely inspired by real-life events from the writer-director's (Jay Salia's) own experiences.
Renowned actor Mr. Mahesh Thakur agreed to do this film as a generous favor to his family friend's daughter Sana Thakore (the casting director of this film). The family friend being Mrs. Shweta Thakore (who plays the teacher and is Sana's real-life mother).
