Fascinating

Fascinating if ultimately heartbreaking account of the struggle to offer help in a country that can barely help itself. I couldn't help but see parallels with the current and future state of the US. Newell and his crew have done a remarkable job of hanging with a story that seems at times to be tantalizingly close to a constantly elusive resolution. See this one. And quickly since Haiti is in a state where all of our eyes need to be on her. The recent unrest, like the natural disaster at the heart of this story, is as damaging to both the infrastructure and the soul of this island. That Newell is able to view it with compassionate objectivity is a real accomplishment.

A fascinating documentary!

I found this movie to be entirely interesting. This film is an first person perspective into the unforeseen complications a person, even one with best intentions, can run into when they approach trying to address Haitian issues with an American mentality.

The story is captivating and unfolds in a pretty dramatic manner. And the characters were super interesting too. You feel like you actually get to know them, warts and all.

I wish there were a whole series of movies like this. It would be interesting to get an inside look at the challenges and obstacles that must be navigated when taking on a project like trying to build a school in Haiti.

Very cool!
