Hits the mark
summeriris17 January 2014
One has to say that very few political songs hits it's mark as accurately as this little ditty does.

Judging from the reaction of the right wing media I think it hurt a great deal. So much vitriol directed at a song has to mean that the song hit it's target with deadly accuracy.

And as a huge Charlton Heston fan I think he would have laughed his head off at the song. But it was wonderful to see the right wing media being reduced to apoplexy. Also the song is pretty darn good.

It has good rhythm, clever lyrics, good musicians and Carrey can carry a tune. If only one person stops to think that anybody who needs to prove his maturity with an semi automatic or automatic weapon is really only proving their immaturity.

A summary of the modern man.
keeperspencer28 February 2014
This is the epitome of the modern man. Disrespectful to the dead, disrespectful to elderly, disrespectful to anyone with a different opinion, and most of all disrespectful of anything old. In todays times no one cares about family, elderly, manners, chivalry, or having respect. No one likes the older movies so we remake them.

The razor is probably the best thing to show how stupid we are with our new must be better mentality. Have you ever shaved with a modern "Safe" razor. The thing clogs and you have to pay 20 buck for 5 blades each one only lasts a week. With a old safety razor you pay 1.50 for 10 and they last you just as long if not longer and don't clog and ruin early. Cleaner shave to. Thats how stupid we are!

It was meant to be a make fun of gun advocates but it just left me cold. The song was catchy though. Good for him. But Jim lost a fan for blatantly insulting a dead man telling him he (along with anyone who advocates guns) couldn't go to heaven. I didn't take this as a personal attack as many did. However, the lack of etiquette while preaching how we should ban guns because we should care about each other was redundant and showed me a side of Jim I didn't care to see and wish I hadn't.

I wish him the best of luck and truly suggest if you care about manners, chivalry, and morality to not watch this short it will leave a bad taste in your mouth for Jim and might ruin your taste for watching his normally hilarious work.

Cold shoulder..
jimlacy20033 June 2013
I don't get why Jim made this. Some sort of political activism that makes me think Jim went Martin Sheen on us. And like Martin Sheen's career took a big dump after he started staging protests and what not.

First of all it's usually bad when actors/entertainers go political. We know, see, and most importantly pay them for what they are good at; acting, entertaining, and in particular Jim for making us laugh. Frankly, like most people I couldn't care less what political affiliation an actor is and I certainly don't look to them for political advice either.

2nd Jim I think your way off the mark on this one. The Second Amendment, our constitution, the Right to bear arms, etc., you apparently don't understand at all. If nothing else it's about having arms to protect our self's against a tyrannical government. Speaking of which, our USA government jumps at every opportunity to forward it's own agenda on removing guns from the public. Look at the history of Hitler and other dictatorships. The first thing they do is outlaw public gun ownership making it a capital offense for having one. So Jim either intentionally or by mistake you're just forwarding the big government's agenda here..

3rd I get from this comedy short you are calling Charlton Heston a buffoon thus are arrogantly calling yourself the superior. Now you are/were both 'A' list actors. And as much as I enjoy your own work if I were stranded on a remote island and I had the choice of only either Jim Carrey or Charlton Heston's movies I'd easily choose the later. I'd watch the original "Planet of the Apes" movies, "Soylent Green", "The Omega Man", "Ben-Hur", etc., over and over again..

Overall I thought this little comedy skit to be not the least bit funny, pretentious, silly, and pretty pointless.

Liberal propaganda, nothing more

Warning: Spoilers
"Cold Dead Hand with Jim Carrey" is a 6-minute short film from 2 years ago and as Funnyordie includes the actor's name as usual in a desperate attempt for getting people to watch their (usually unfunny) videos, I do not have to tell you who plays the major characters in here. I must say I like Jim Carrey in many of his movies. But I am disappointed to see him in here. It is pointless, left-wing propaganda and very disrespectful to the dead. It's not satire or anything like that, it's just stupid bait with zero credibility. The only reason why I am not voting this any lower is that the song was kinda catchy and, as despicable as this film here is, it is still a document of what is wrong with our society. I am not talking about guns. I am talking about people who blindly want to enforce laws that would not make a difference in the long run at all. Sucks to see Carrey in here. Really does. Not too surprised with Funnyordie though. They have always been left-wing propaganda in many of their videos. Not because they believe in it, but because that's what the masses want to hear. Not recommended.
