Intriguing, Eye Opening, and Educational

Warning: Spoilers
This documentary gave such a thorough, well-explained education on the issues of anxiety and depression facing American culture. It also provided an examination of various treatment methods and gave a sense of hope for healing. As someone who has dealt with Dysthymia (persistent depression) and Anxiety when I was younger, I could relate to so many things that were addressed. And as someone who has a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy I appreciated the thorough and thoughtful educational aspect. And as someone who has family members dealing with depression and anxiety, I gained a new understanding and perspective of what they're going through, since we all experience things differently. I highly recommend this documentary especially to people who maybe be battling with their mental health or have someone they love who is battling with it. I also recommend it to professionals in the field to expand their understanding.

This documentary, American Anxiety: Inside the Hidden Epidemic of Anxiety and Depression, is an extremely fascinating look at the issues of depression and anxiety that are so prevalent in today's society. The movie is pretty simple, it's mostly based around the interviews of three different experts, and it's very informative and insightful. It is very well edited, and I thought the graphics were well done. If you're interested in the topic of anxiety/depression and want to learn more about it, then this film is an absolute must watch, you will learn so much. Two thumbs up for this amazing documentary.

Must-see documentary

A precise, intelligent, respectful and well-documented film on a difficult subject that is increasingly affecting our society, yet which is difficult to talk about: depression (and anxiety). We've all been personnally touched, in one way or another, by depression, but this "modern illness" is still misunderstood. In this 1h30, the causes, consequences, medicinal and therapeutic treatments are explained by professionnals, by patients who have suffered from depression through moving testimonies. This is supported by clear data on the current situation in the United States and its massive acceleration in recent years. Congratulations to the team behind this project, which I hope will be widely accessible for educational and preventive purposes.

A very important area of investigation and exploration
julianhappen20 December 2023
A very solid investigation into the nature of anxiety and depression, which is an epidemic in American (and western society). This documentary goes into the psychology of what these issues are, why they exist in the individual and society, how they feel and what experts think about different treatments.

Particularly interesting is the exploration of talk therapies, how they can be effective and also exploring new therapties such as psychedelic theraries as well.

For a significant proportion of the population, this film should be essential viewing, and a very easy way for such people to be informed about these critical issues can affect them and the people around them.
