For a change of pace, this episode actually takes place near Steve's home in Tampa, Florida.
It's a strange case. As seems to be a common equation, when a family member passes, the death triggers a cycle of paranormal activity.
Such is the case here where a woman's mother dies, and the family house is subsequently invaded by the beyond.
Steve hits the historical books and discovers the property was once owned by two businessmen brothers, one who died very early, and the other who made a fortune and then lost it. The saga continues with another man, many years later, who
in a drug induced rage, killed his girlfriend and then walked outside of his house and blew his brains out. The deranged spirit of this man seems to be one of the causes of all the trouble around the house.
There's more. Steve's intense historical research discovers that early settlers in Flordia, in the 1600s, involved Indians and land rights, who killed a local priest and alter boys, resulting in a bitter land war. This long war, it would seem, subsequently tainted the land for future owners.
If you have followed the show since the beginning, land disputes and battles seem to be a common thread as to why houses are invaded by domineering spirits in the first place. Apparently, there was no closure and the revenge and hatred would linger on the property for centuries, such as in this case.
The reveal goes back to the more recent deaths on the property, the disturbed spirits clinging to the property and creating all the trouble, though its distinct possibility they met their own fates due to the Indian land battle of the 1600s. Tag it a ghostly Catch 22.
This is an episode you have to watch very closely, but make no mistake the current owners are living a real nightmare. Amy takes over and suggests the employment of a medium to clense the house, especially to get rid of the maniac who commited suicide and has singled out this family.
Only debit, the family has to search for the right medium.
