Wimpy romantics

Warning: Spoilers
Aimed at a female audience for porn, "The Blind Date" from Erika Lust's positive sex label is a mediocre romantic movie, just an hour long and not interesting. Actress turned director Mandi Slade is very careful to keep her "dirty movie" (by definition) squeaky clean, so what's the point?

It deals trivially with interpersonal relations, the non-story begins with cute Lumi Ray having sex with her pal Michael Vegas, a quickie that ends with him informing her that he's found a girl he wants to get serious with, so this will be Lumi's final booty call with him.

That rather harsh "plot twist" serves the purpose of supposedly building instant sympathy of the viewer with Lumi, but the dialog in this show is so trite that no actual connection with the characters is likely -it's just sex with a dollop of plot. Vegas talks Lumi into hosting a dinner party to meet his new girl (she has zero interest in that) and he is suddenly a matchmaker, inviting a date for her named Jessie to attend.

Next "plot twist" has Jessie turning out to be beutfiul porn star Alexis Tae. Rest of the show consists of Vegas' new girl Casey Calvert giving him a blow job in the kitchen, Lumi hooking up with Alexis after initial resistance to being set up; the lesbians having a falling out and then making up, with sex of course.

Erika Lust is not interested in delivering gonzo pornography to her customers, and certainly not the misogynist type that dominates today. But dull, corny content like this is hardly the stuff that dreams are made of, even just erotic dreams.
