Chris Hemsworth is taking over another spot on Netflix’s most popular films list.
After 66 days, Extraction 2 has cracked the list at No. 10, knocking Spenser Confidential off and falling in line right under its predecessor, Extraction. This makes it the first film franchise to chart two films on the most popular list simultaneously, and it’s the third Agbo film on the list overall.
So far, Extraction 2 has racked up 129.3M views, and it still has about 25 days of viewing left in its premiere measurement window. The first installment sits at 135.7M views for its entire 91-day window, which means there’s a strong possibility that the sequel could end up outranking the original when all is said and done.
Similarly to The Mother last week, Extraction 2 hasn’t been on the weekly Top 10 in a few weeks, but these lengthier premiere windows make it possible for...

Netflix’s Untold: Swamp Kings examines the Florida Gators football team’s success under coach Urban Meyer. The four-episode docuseries, which just released a teaser trailer, tells the story of Meyer’s reign via exclusive interviews with those intimately involved in the team.
“The players’ stories are unfiltered, deeply personal, and often full of humor. They describe what it’s like to hear the roar of the crowd, to feel the sweat dripping down their backs, and to know they’re at the center of it all. The joy of beating a rival, the glory of winning a national title,” explained director Katharine English.
English added: “But as well as the adoration of Gator Nation and near-celebrity status, the players also suffer adversity and heartbreak along the journey. What emerges is a human story. It is a story about more than football – it’s a story of brotherhood, relentless effort,...

HBO’s Ballers, the docuseries Depp v. Heard, the Adam Sandler-produced You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah and interactive rom-com Choose Love are among the new projects debuting on Netflix in August.
After adding all five seasons of Insecure last month, in the first time an HBO original series was available on Netflix in the U.S., Netflix is adding yet another HBO title on Aug. 15: the Dwayne Johnson-fronted Ballers.
The streamer is also set to add HBO series Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Six Feet Under at a future date, due to a co-exclusive deal with Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max.
Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s headline-making 2022 defamation case, over a Washington Post op-ed in which Heard called herself a domestic abuse survivor, is the subject of the three-part Depp v. Heard docuseries, which combines footage that was televised and livestreamed...

It’s Round 3 for this acclaimed series, Untold, where controversial sports figures talk — sometimes exhaustively — about the line between their fame and infamy. “Our athletes know we’re offering an unvarnished view,” says Maclain Way, who exec produces alongside his brother Chapman. “And they know they’ll have no say in the final edit.” The latest roster is an ambitious one. Take Jake Paul, the internet star who raked in millions on his way to becoming among the most hated YouTubers, thanks in part to accusations of scamming fans. Paul later counterpunched with a successful career in professional boxing. As he claims in Jake Paul the Problem Child (recently available), “This is a story of a kid who lost himself; boxing saved his life.” Similar confessions come in Johnny Football (recently available) from Johnny Manziel, who, as a Texas A&m quarterback 11 years ago, was a Lone Star State hero.

“Untold: Johnny Football” is a 2023 documentary movie about the life and career of former college football quarterback Johnny Manziel. The film is directed by Clay Tweel and released on Netflix on August 8, 2023.
Johnny Manziel is an iconic quarterback from the University of Texas who, at the age of twenty, became a national star. In just one year, he managed to turn the team’s trajectory around and to become a symbol nationwide. Everyone wanted his autograph, everyone wanted to be with Johnny “Football,” and of course, he and his friends saw the opportunity to turn the star’s popularity into a business.
This implied, though, just one (big) problem: Johnny had a scholarship and couldn’t get paid to play football.
About the Documentary
We are never let down by the “Untold,” franchise, and this occasion was no exception to that “rule”. It gives us an insight into what lies...
