Mongolia’s film industry is on the rise, with a momentum that began at Cannes in 2023.
Zoljargal Purevdash’s If Only I Could Hibernate was the first Mongolian film to be shown in Cannes’ official selection when it played in Un Certain Regard last year, going on to win a jury prize at Tokyo FilmEx and scoring box-office success both at home and internationally.
It was followed by Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir’s City Of Wind, the first feature from the Asian country to play Toronto and Venice.

Queens of the Stone Age frontman Josh Homme’s benefit concert for the Sweet Stuff Foundation on Wednesday (March 20th) at The Belasco in Los Angeles was an epic event. One of the many highlights was his son Ryder’s band Vivant performing classics by Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath.
As we reported on Thursday, “Josh Homme & Friends: A Benefit for the Sweet Stuff Foundation” featured a drum-off between Dave Grohl and Chad Smith, plus performances from Beck, St. Vincent, and more, not to mention comedy from Sarah Silverman and Bill Burr.
Vivant, featuring 12-year-old Ryder Homme behind the drum kit alongside his fellow young bandmates, rocked Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” (watch below) and Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs.”

The Netflix Japanese Series Vivant is an action drama that has been directed efficiently by Katsuo Fukuzawa. The brilliant cast of the series includes skilled actors like Hiroshi Abe, Masato Sakai, Tori Matsuzaka, and Fumi Nikaido. The series is full of adventures and is sure to secure the top spot on the list of action-drama thrillers this year. The plot revolves around the seemingly simple life of a sales manager, Yusuke Nogi. The adventures start lining up when he reaches the Balkans for a very serious issue, the blame of which is being shifted on him. Will he be able to resolve the problem?
