Fake blood
akbrahmo26 August 2023
When you see police officer Samanta who's is apparently a DCP( equal in rank to Brinda Basu, DCP, DD, whose daughter Diti goes missing) , you know the director doesn't have an eye for detail. ( on the collar there's no black gold arrow insignia) and the blood on the only white shirt of Romit Sen, the TV journalist is even more fake. The police department can afford to have such unfit DCPs? The six episodes are not taut. . Nothing exciting. Acting wise, Koneenica was the best. Only good thing about Tota was his salt n pepper 'daadi'. Swastika is her usual. All in all, didn't quite like Nikhoj. Hope the denouement will be better.

Poor acting of DCP character - Brinda Basu
debbijit17 August 2023
Poor acting of DCP character - Brinda Basu / Swastika Mukherjee.

The acting, bold character as a DCP, her body language, responses ........ Everything is missing. Her role as a DCP didn't suit and didn't enjoy watching, felt like lot of things are missing.........like bold character, attitude, smart personality as a DCP rank. The story is good and all other actors did a wonderful job. When a single mother lost her only child daughter, it definitely freaks her out and she looses her control but don't expect from a DCP rank officer as IPS officers are trained for their emotional and physical strength. Since DCP s daughter is missing and it seems only DCP herself is concerned for her missing, what rest of all other police colleagues are doing? Didn't enjoy and didn't like the part 1 .

Mediocre script, poor performance
nourtia_nil22 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
What a waste of time! Mediocre scrtipt/plot, but more importantly, such a poor performance from Brinda Basu (Swastika). It is the central character, but it was rendered to so poorly. Never saw any series or movies of Swastika, so not sure if she is really poor in acting, or is it just one off. The script and dialogues were very mediocre too (so it's not just the acting): many a times, it was clear that dialogues were intended for unnecessary screen footage. In other words, simple plot was expanded to many episodes just by adding too many redundant dialogues. Whatever was covered in the six episodes could easily be accommodated in 2-3. Now they are extending to a new season! Come on!

Plot: One of many holes: when the DCP's daughter is missing, it was supposed to make a lot more noise across the departments (such as police branches, hospitals, morgues, hotels etc). However, even after knowing that there was an unidentified deadbody, exactly around the same time, they police officer simply ignored it! Really!

Don't waste your time watching this
arc_arunava_roy_choudhur19 August 2023
The story revolves around a missing girl whose mother is DCP trying to find her, at least that was they were trying to say but we could hardly see it. The story starts abruptly with no build up whatsoever. Swastika Mukherjee was extremely poor on portraying the role of the DCP. Special mention to the dialogue writer and cinematographer for ruining rest of the series. Not a single moment was there where you could fill the thrill or chill. Sometimes felt like watching a melodramatic series rather than a thriller. Extremely disappointing and a total waste of time. Second season is on the way but if they don't change their approach don't think it will be watchable at all.

Many loose ends
arghyadip-8488823 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Utter waste of time.. Many characters were introduced but most of them did not contribute anything to the storyline. It was just to make things hazier purposefully. I belive the greatest detective plots have been written with a very less number of characters and revolves around the fine interworking among them. If this webseries would have been a C++ program, definitely it would throw an "unused variables" warning while compiling.

Many impractical incidents and loose ends are depicted in the webseries: 1. A journalist leaves her job and becomes a police. Within six years of joining, she starts assisting the DCP.

2. There is no search team from the police to search the missing person. Instead, the DCP herself goes on a mission by flickering torch from a bridge amidst rain and flying a drone.

3. Ramit Sen continues to wear the same bloody shirt for consecutive days. Police could only provide him a new one after he is admitted to hospital.

4. DCP's assistant hears about an unidentified body and hit-and-run case while dealing with a missing person and a blooded car. However, she ignores it completely for next few days.

5. Diti's father seems to have a very less interest in this case.

To name a few..

Nikhonj, a captivating Bengali web series directed by Ayan Chakraborti , was released on August 11th in Hoichoi. We were fortunate enough to watch it on the day of its release, and it truly set the bar high for Bengali thrillers. From start to finish, it had the audience on the edge of their seats, with well-crafted plots and a perfect pace.

Let's talk about the performances. Swastika Mukherjee absolutely nailed it, and it was a pleasure to see her portray such a strong-willed character after such a long time. Her acting will keep you hooked until the very end.

Saoli Chattopadhyay captivates the audience with her natural and seamless acting. She effortlessly grabs your attention and leaves a lasting impression.

Although Tota Roy Chowdhury had limited screen time, he managed to make a significant impact with his performance.

Overall, Nikhonj is a series that comes highly recommended. We are eagerly awaiting the release of season 2.

A better storytelling approach in series after a long time
sourav198621 August 2023
If somebody loves suspense and thriller after quite some time Hoichoi has delivered a well constructed story telling approach. The chaos for the first two episodes and providing small clues which has been used for the entire length of season one is a well drawn approach to keep the suspense going.

Season 1 is the build up the way it should be eagarly wiating for season 2 mainly for the sweeper ( Mohendra gupta). Being quite a avid movie and series lover of different language of a few decades. This is indeed a good watch and a well tuned and constucted story telling of suspense thriller series.

Watch it strongly recommended!

As expected a thrilling webseries when I watched the trailer I have decided to watch it and as expected a captivating series! Each actor performed well but Swastika Mukherjee is amazing!!! Saoli Chattopadhyay is great too! Great storyline, each episode is thrilling it makes you feel that not just the mother/DCP even you want to find "Diti" and the entry of the "sweeper" (Paran Banerjee) makes things more complicated! Tota Roy Chowdhury as Romit Sen delivered well and so is Koneenica Banerjee. In a word those who like detective series/thriller must watch it. Really can't wait for season 2 when is season 2 coming???
