- The Grey Leno Show is an audacious and raunchy satirical take on the eponymous Jay Leno Show and Late Night TV culture in general. Delivering scathing and surreal scenarios for applause from an unblinking audience, we are forced to see the nightlife Hollywood culture underneath a lens and veneer of those that would not normally participate within it or be enamored by it, resulting in a grotesque perspective of a sensationalized social structure recognized as "entertainment" by the masses. As opposed to traditional studios, Grey Leno elects to have a massive digitized ring centered with him flailing about on the stage, similar to the extravagant sets reserved for his ilk. The flashy presentation is cranked to further levels by being a blatant assault on the senses. There is a reference to Star Wars Sequels as if to mock guest appearances and trailer showcases as barely-disguised advertisements for blockbusters and a sudden appearance by Mr. Frog yielding vomit-inducing scenes (potentially a twist on "surprise" appearances and skits performed by live TV hosts). The show goes on bizarre tangents typically only prioritized by the host, as the fans watching only care about said ideas solely because an idolized figure espouses them. This ultimately comes to a head when Grey Leno disassembles himself in front of everyone, from the viewers at home to the live reaction, and makes his leave slinking away at the end of the show, pathetically groveling at passersby in a vain attempt to end the broadcast. Yet the cameras linger, shift and nudge, as if begging for better direction as an in-studio crowd watches on, whose only proof of life (or even lack thereof) is their repeated motions of adulation and the sounds of laughter.—Retronnity
