The long-awaited conclusion of Scott Snyder and Dan Panosian's Canary will be available on December 26th, but we have an exclusive preview you can read right now! Canary #6 will be available digitally from Comixology Originals, where you can also catch up on the rest of the must-read Old West horror comic book series.
Aside from the the series' digital format, Canary has been heading to print in "stunning 56-page oversized issues" from Dark Horse Comics. Canary #2 will be available in comic book shops on December 20th and, for those interested in a physical trade paperback, the Canary Tpb is available for pre-order at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and your local comic shop and bookstore. It was eight years ago this week that Arrow kicked off what would be known as its “Mystery Grave” season, seeing as the opener ended with a “Six Months Later” flash-forward that saw Barry Allen arrive late for the funeral of someone clearly close to Oliver Queen.
The only clues we had to go on from that startling, minute-long stinger was that Oliver felt responsibility for whomever‘s death, and as such now was resolved “to kill him,” the person responsible for it.

The North American box office has been a challenge to track the past couple of years, first with movie theaters shuttering along with almost everything else due to the Covid pandemic, and then in 2023, just when thing were returning to normal, a pair of Hollywood strikes has further complicated studios’ release-date strategies.
Still, as of last weekend of August, the 2023 domestic box office is already past $6.6 billion in grosses, up 25% over the same frame a year ago, and there are still busy festival and holiday seasons to help boost awareness — and attendance.

Oscilloscope Laboratories has landed “Canary,” a documentary about a climate scientist who been referred to as “the closest living thing to Indiana Jones.”
Danny O’Malley, a producer on “Chef’s Table,” directed the film with MIT-trained Neuroscientist Alex Rivest, PhD. It’s set to open in limited release on Sept. 15 followed by a one-night-only special nationwide screening on Sept. 20.
The subject of the film is Doctor Lonnie Thompson, who, in a press release, is referred to as an explorer “who went where no scientist had gone before and transformed our idea of what is possible.” He’s been globally recognized for his drilling an analysis of ice cores from various regions of the world in the hopes of better understanding the Earth’s climate.
The announcement goes on to describe the documentary’s mission like so: “Daring to seek Earth’s history contained in glaciers atop the tallest mountains in the world,...
