Episode 9A - "A Friendly Village": Quiche gets stung by a scorpion. Victor gives her a cortisone shot in hopes that it will help her. Meanwhile, C.T. runs into a local boy who takes them to his village, where the curandero, a medicine man, treats Quiche's sting with an herbal remedy. While staying at the village, C.T. and Quiche play with the children there. One of the village boys gives C.T. a gift, which appears to be an ancient Mayan artifact made out of jade, which Terry thinks may have come from a local burial site. Expedition 9B - "Curandera": Hosted by Carla Dougin. Carla travels to Central Mexico to visit with Adel Bye, a botanist who studies traditional Indian plant cures, to see which ones work and which ones don't. There are many plants in the world which have medicinal properties. Adel takes Carla to see Dona Sebastiana Clavije, who is a local curandera or medicine woman, who is a descendant from the ancient Aztecs.
