“American Murder: Laci Peterson” was the most-watched streaming original series in the U.S. Aug. 16-22, which marked its first full week of availability, per Luminate. That’s up from fifth place with 255.3 million minutes watched the week before, though the docuseries was only available for two days during that window.
Interestingly, the title at the bottom of the TV chart covered the same subject. Peacock’s “Face to Face With Scott Peterson” debuted in 10th place with 147.5 million minutes watched in its first three days of streaming.
"Emily in Paris" returned to Netflix for its fourth season, which landed it a second place debut with 843.6 million minutes watched in its first full week of availability. The Spanish comedy drama I Can’t Live Without You dives into a pretty basic yet extremely topical, relatable topic; nomophobia, or acute mobile phone addiction, a malady that has far-reaching impact and has infected the majority of the global population within a fairly short amount of time. Agreed, the nature of contemporary work-life schedules has made smartphones an inseparable part of our lives by consolidating nearly all our regular personal and professional necessities in a single device, but more often than not, the engrossing allure of the virtual world inside the miniature display makes people forget the outside reality. This particular aspect of a common nuisance is perfectly highlighted in director Santiago Requejo’s comedy drama feature, which, albeit messed up in the humor department, retains its strength when it comes to sentimental impact.

“I Can’t Live Without You” (No puedo vivir sin ti) is a Spanish romantic comedy starring Adrián Suar and Paz Vega. It is directed by Santiago Requejo.
Adrián Suar headlines this comedy about a mobile-addicted executive, delivering a charming performance that anchors the film. It’s a lighthearted, unpretentious tale, elevated by Suar’s engaging portrayal.
Complementing him is Spanish actress Paz Vega, who adds a dramatic touch to the otherwise straightforward narrative. Together, they craft an enjoyable comedy centered on a man consumed by his cell phone.
Our Take
This comedy unfolds predictably: a cell phone addict loses his life and wife, then embarks on a journey to reclaim them. “”I Can’t Live Without You” on Netflix: A Perfect Comedy for Adrián Suar” offers no unexpected twists or fresh innovations, progressing from one familiar point to another.
Nevertheless, it serves as an ideal showcase for Adrián Suar’s comedic prowess,...

News of the adaptation, which will be ushered in by Oscar-winner Juan José Campanella, was announced Monday evening as Netflix unveiled their 2024 ‘Made in Argentina’ slate to a spirited crowd of industry and media professionals.
Campanella will direct, produce and showrun the project, while Gastón Gorali co-pens and acts as general producer of the Netflix Original series and Sergio Fernández boards as production director.
