Carl vs Gws, at Marvel Stadium.

Warning: Spoilers
The Giants playing for a Finals spot, the Blues locked in already. Curnow needs just a goal for the Coleman, with key defender Taylor out for the Giants. Cripps and Docherty out for Carlton. The Blues kick the opener, but a costly 50-metre penalty gets the Giants on the board. Curnow takes a good contested mark and converts to claim the Coleman. Toby with an excellent gather and finish, but it's the Blues up by 7 at the quarter break. Toby goals from 50 in the 2nd and the Giants go ahead with Coniglio putting one through in his 200th. A back and forth game, the Giants lead by 5 at halftime. Shocking umpiring gifting Curnow a goal, claiming a mark that was clearly hit by his teammate first and everyone knew it. Riccardi goals from the boundary and Lloyd from 50 though and the Giants take a handy 26-point lead into the final term. The Giants defense very good, they extend the lead in the 4th, claiming a Finals spot, home by 32 points. I expected them to make it on how they've played this year, but a crazy achievement given they removed the coach after a dismal season and lost key midfielders, with predictors having them around the bottom, some even for the wooden spoon. Carlton handily won the hit-outs, the Giants +6 in the clearances, with an even amount of the footy. The Giants with 2 more inside 50's, for 7 more scoring shots and kicked accurately. Tom Green best afield, with 35 disposals, 8 clearances, 5 tackles, 7 intercepts and 2 assists. Coniglio 28 disposals, 8 inside 50's, 6 tackles, 539 metres gained and 2 goals. Himmelberg 24 disposals, 9 intercepts and 549 metres gained. Greene 18 disposals, 442 metres gained, 4 goals and an assist. Buckley good on Curnow and Idun in defense as well. For Carlton, Weitering 18 disposals, 2 contested marks and 13 intercepts.

3. (Gws) T. Green, 2. (Gws) S. Coniglio, 1. (Gws) H. Him-lberg.
