Host Charisma, make a documentary.
This documentary on the "rebel pharaoh," Akhenaten carries great information regarding the pharaoh, but severely lacks in its cinematography, editing and line delivery. The pace of this documentary is often brought to a grinding halt upon the two hosts, Miriam Cooke and Dominic Montserrat, delivering information through clearly scripted lines. One could excuse this due to their obvious lack of background in film and more of a focus on their areas of study, but often historians show more passion in documentaries on similar topics. This, combined with the fast-paced editing shakes the tone all over the place dates this episode to the early 2000s. I feel that the host's delivery of lines could've been fixed with further takes but I suppose there were budgetary restraints. On the plus side, the narrator is very good and I did learn a lot. Overall, a good try, but I bored me enough to write a review about it during my Year 12 Ancient History class.
