Dreadful
user-355837 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It's like Basic Instinct except that she's a male lady who falls for one of her men on her route. And it only gets worse from there. We see her trying to entice him into a relationship multiple times by way of video chats and anonymous videos. Mostly, she whispers and tries to arouse him. When they finally do come together, there is no nudity and she is made up in garish make up. The lead actress is mildly attractive, but holy wooden actress. And given that she doesn't robe in this film, it's a wonder how she got the role at all. I mean, what was she offering to the part? Anyhow the last 15 minutes are holy absurd and the ending will leave you rolling your eyes.

Obsession

This movie is just another example of the movie " Obsessed 2009" with Beyonce and Idris Elba but worst. You can tell a lot about a person who writes movies like this. Andre Ray probably romanticizes things like this happening in his personal life. What was the message in this awful movie? Teaches young men it's okay to cheat in their marriage and keeps things a secret. Adultery is okay, bringing a baby in your marriage, putting your family at risk saying you love to be with the person who not the wife if you weren't married but your happily married, letting the wife get shot and letting the children see that.

Absolutely dreadful

The plot is so awful and cheesy and I don't get how anyone still writes stuff like this. Why are movies like this made with a clear narrative that just shouldn't even be around these day? A Caucasian woman lusting after a poc male and becoming unhinged. Really? That's the most this sort of trope has evolved? As a poc myself, to see this is just awful storytelling where the writer and director have nothing new to offer the cinematic world in this genre of films. It could be compelling if the writing was better or if they even just sat down and asked themselves "Hey do we just make an awful version of what's out there or actually try?" They chose the former and missed out on the latter which would have been nice to see.

I'd give it a 0.5/10 if I could.

An indie film with promise, and a few plot holes
kevindoconnel9 December 2023
I saw this film's review on Film Threat and the reviewer made it sound like a good watch. It was. Good story, but overall nothing exceptional.

When watching this film, you have to keep in mind that it is a low budget production with low budget issues. So I recommend focusing on the story being told. When I did that, I found this film to be overall enjoyable.

If you liked "Fatal Attraction," then you will enjoy "The Mail Lady," which is basically a remake. But the director adds a few very good wrinkles to the FA plot line, especially the excellent unexpected ending.

Remember, this is low budget film, so it is inevitable that there will be flaws. So, when they occur (e.g., the focus issues, color grading, repetitive shots, acting) you should afford the filmmakers some grace. If you do, you will enjoy the film.

And as for the plot holes in the screenplay, suffice it to say that you will have to suspend reality a few times. Otherwise, not bad.

This was actually good

I just happened to stumble across this movie and thought I'd give it a good shot. I'm very used to the big budget Hollywood/Netflix stuff but I understand that this is an indie production, I am no expert in filmmaking or the such but when you are doing an indie film you work with what you have.

It had a solid plot line yes there were some flaws but the acting was good, especially the actress Molly Anderson, she did an amazing job and as someone who works in the mental health field that is a scarily accurate portrayal of people who suffer OCD. I hope she is able to land a bigger lead role in the future.
