I think JJ is great. He is a lively character and enjoyable to watch. Lots of great trivia packed in this 30 minute show.

It was embarrassing to watch as a Black Man
saeoto12 April 2024
I thank J J was duped. I J J was like Jimmy Walker on Good Times. I had 4 Black people. 1 looked angry one the phone darker man. 1 woman still shot said let's clear up the Alphabit soup. 3 Black guy playing Basketball. And a woman shown and it said Stuggling to make decision. All episodes were of happy white people in nice places smiles, inventors none Black!? Every Body Happy were White. WhY?

I love the info But truly Hate all else about the show and even MR J J couldn't see the Big picture he was the what ever of. 💔 Not one happy Black or in a nice place background or smile. Oh one darker man staring at ice cream on a cover but no where in the show. My grand children are white and I thought of this as a gift to share as a Black Man teaching mixed children. But I refuse. I verbally share the words but not the visual. SHAME ON EVERY ONE INVOLVED IN THE SHAME OF A SHOW!!!!!

Smells like propaganda, looks like teleshoping
VapAndrei9 June 2014
I love gathering facts about everything, through any means. This includes documentaries like this one.

I honestly was happy I bumped into it. Despite the name, which is so, so bad.. despite the graphics making it look like it was made in the 80s.. and even despite Jeff Johnson's annoying way of narrating this I truly enjoyed the first two episodes.

JJ's way of speaking, the graphics and the name of the show .. all make this look like a teleshopping program, minus the huge phone numbers at the bottom.

Now to get to the propaganda part. After the 2 episodes I've mentioned, I started seeing a pattern. Everything is invented in America. Even if it's not invented in America.. someone, somewhere in the US, 'innovated' the invention and the whole thing is presented like an American merit.

It may be awesome for some US citizens (though I've been talking with Americans and a great part of them agree with me), but if you're not an US native, you actually feel insulted.

I mean, let's be honest.. when you came so far as to say Chinese FORTUNE COOKIES were invented by Americans.. there's something wrong with the show.

If you watch it, please be so kind and count the things presented as being invented in USA. It's like 9/10.

Still waiting for the episode where they'll tell me how walking and hot water were invented in America.

WOW! I never knew everything was made in the UNITED STATES of America! One last thing. Though everything on this planet seems to be invented in America.. America itself was invented in Europe. ;)
