Filmmaker Mike Krumlauf has made a promise to include filmmaker John Hughes under special thanks in all of his films, as John's work has been of great influence to Mike and Mike considers John as his favorite filmmaker of all time.
Several reasons both ethical and legal. Mike Krumlauf always saw this film as one to be available for free given it's sensitive material. Mike also knew that the highest chance of the film reaching the most people was if it was given away for free. Also, due to some source music being used in the film under the fair use act, the film's final cut is not in a legal position to enter a "for-profit" environment.
This is due to the way some films Mike made with Matt were matted in their final cut. Some are 1.85:1, while others are 2:35.1 Scope. Mike wanted these scenes to retain their full resolution so he did not rematte the material to fit the master 1.85 frame the film is presented in.
The film was cut on a 2008 Mac Pro using Adobe Premiere CC.
