Great Start to the 25th Season that is a Funny and Clever Parody,
lesleyharris3022 April 2014
Homerland is a brilliant Simpsons episode with a very well written and well developed storyline with a tone of very funny scenes.I have never seen a single episode of the series Homeland, but I am aware of the shows storyline and thought the story to this episode was a funny and clever way to parody the show, and the unusual direction on this episode is obviously copying the show as well, and it's made the episode a very unique Simpsons episode.Homerland is a great start to the Simpsons twenty fifth season and fans of the show will definitely enjoy and laugh.

Lisa becomes suspicious of Homer when he returns home after a convention a completely changed man,no longer wanting to eat his favourite foods and drink beer,so she decides to investigate.

Homerland

Remember that brief period of time when 'Homeland' was the biggest show on TV?

Well this episode of 'The Simpsons' tries to cash in on it here, and it actually works very well.

It's big, it's silly, there's some nice twists along the way - it all ends up being a great deal of fun surprisingly, even for me as someone who never saw the show it was parodying.

I liked that Homer had a reason to be a fool, and that the Lisa/Homer relationship was at the core of proceedings.

Overall, this was an unexpectedly lovely episode, with some nice moments along the way.

It all bodes well for the 25th series.

Interesting start to the season

The plot focuses a suspicious Lisa finding out why her father is acting suspiciously. There are some one-off characters introduced that were based off of homeland characters, the humor can be a bit hit or miss but It's not necessarily bad or anything. The one-off characters include an attractive female fbi agent with bipolar and her partner. The female agent is based off of Carrie Mathison from homeland ,the agents name is Annie Crawford with some of the humor in the episode focusing on her, she has an interesting and likable enough personality and her design is appealing enough, it's what I'd imagine Carrie Mathison to look like in the Simpsons for the most part. Her partner doesn't do much in story so I can't really speak on him. The episode does have some humor based on terrorism pointed at some religions which may be offensive to some so that's definitely a thing to keep in mind before watching.
