Powerful ballad with a surreal imagery
Rodrigo_Amaro3 October 2023
Another great hit by Gary Wright, the heartfelt unrequited love song "I Really Wanna Know You" video, unlike "Dream Weaver" which was a basic performance with his group, presents a small concept of a man tormented and fascinated by a mysterious woman of whom he's desperatly in love. The surreal imagery alligned with the lyrics showing how much he wants to know the love of his life and how he feels about her gives a highly unusual (yet valid) concept that seems to represent that...the man wants to meet death. The woman in the video, along with the obscure scenery of which Gary dreams of her gives the impression that he's seeing an angel of death. Still, that's the one he really wants to know better.

Interesting yet unusual combination since the song is all about love, but the visuals focus on someone who loves death, or at least that's how I understood. Whatever the case, the song is pure magic and for that alone the video deserves some recognition. 7/10.
