For more than two decades, Silent Hill 2 has been considered one of the scariest games of all time. The game was first released for PlayStation 2, then Xbox and PC, and in 2012, a remastered version was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game’s psychological horror story often makes it hard for one to play it alone and in order to tackle this problem, a gamer has been looking for a companion.

To no one’s surprise, fans jumped at the chance to return to the series with last week’s release of Silent Hill: The Short Message. The free-to-play game reportedly logged over a million downloads since its launch during the Sony State of Play last Thursday, with Konami taking to X to announce the big news.
Much like the game’s namesake, Konami was short but sweet with their announcement, thanking all those who played the game.
This is certainly welcome news for Konami after the questionable response from fans and critics over last year’s Silent Hill: Ascension, which despite the interesting concept, didn’t quite endear itself to fans looking for a traditional return of the franchise.
Obviously, the next big test will be the long-awaited and anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake that’s currently being developed by Bloober Team. We did get a glimpse at the combat mechanics last week,...

Details about Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake have been minimal over the past year, but the developer says “production is progressing smoothly”…
Seemingly making up for lost time, Konami announced a whole wave of new Silent Hill games last year. Among the most anticipated is a remake of Silent Hill 2, which is being handled by Polish developer, Bloober Team.
A year later, and little has been seen from Bloober’s remake, which will revise the 2001 classic of the same name for a new generation of hardware. Perhaps conscious of the radio silence – or maybe somewhat weary of all the messages from fans asking for more information – Bloober Team has taken to Twitter (or X) with an update.
“As Bloober Team, we are proud to be a part of Konami’s plan for the Silent Hill franchise,” the studio wrote in a statement. “Alongside our partner, we are...
