Sex & Nudity

  • A female demon appears nude in several scenes. Full frontal nudity is shown in these scenes, though the images themselves are generally brief.

Violence & Gore

  • Most of the violent scenes are shown in first person perspective
  • A man is punched in the face, has his head slammed into a bar counter multiple times, and is then shot in the head at point blank range. Blood gushes onto the counter and the aftermath of his bullet wound is shown.
  • A woman is stabbed in the stomach as she screams in pain. Close ups of her wound are shown as the knife twists and blood gushes out. Blood drizzles from her mouth as she dies.
  • A woman has a gun shoved into her mouth and is shot. The wall behind her is sprayed with blood.
  • A man holds a gun to his head for an extended period of time, contemplating suicide.
  • A demon in the field is shot in the neck. When he is shown up close, black blood is seen gushing from his neck and mouth. He then has a gun shoved into his mouth and is shot in the head. A quick close up reveals blood and brains splattering onto the grass nearby.
  • Two surreal gunfights shown in first person mode take place in a field and in the woods. Gunplay is present, though these two scenes are not particularly bloody.
  • A woman is shot in the stomach twice at close range. She lies dead and her wound is lingered upon for some time.
  • A demon is shot in the woods. A close up of blood splattering reveals his bullet wound.
  • A demon is stabbed in the eye. The knife is graphically shown piercing the eyeball as blood gushes out.
  • The main character is stabbed in the foot by a female demon. The wound is not graphically seen, but blood is shown on his foot.
  • A demon is kicked in the face and then stabbed in the neck. The knife twists slowly as blood gushes.
  • During a carjacking scene, the main character shoots a driver in the face. No blood is seen.
  • During a dream-like sequence, an animated demon is seen impaled on a spike, kicking and writhing in pain as much blood gushes from the wound. The ground around the demon is also very bloody and a pool of blood piles beneath him.
  • During a torture scene, a demon strikes a man with a hammer and blood splatter is shown.
  • A demon bites into a character's neck, ripping into their flesh. Close ups of the gore and flesh ripping appear on screen.
  • A man beats a demon to death, punching him several times with blood splattering before smashing his head into the concrete. Much blood is seen on the demon and on the ground surrounding him.
  • A man hits a female demon in the head with a hammer twice before biting her neck and ripping her flesh open and tearing a chunk off of her neck. She is seen trembling in a pool of blood afterward.
  • A demon is hit in the head with a hammer and then strangled. She bleeds from her mouth before she dies.
  • A demon is stabbed under the jaw. The knife breaks off and he bleeds profusely from his mouth as he dies.
  • A man hits a demon in the head with a blunt object before slitting his throat. The throat slitting is shown through close ups of the knife slicing the flesh as blood gushes heavily onto the ground from the wound.
  • A demon with a shotgun shoots at the main character several times during an extended chase scene.

Profanity

  • There is very little dialogue in the movie, but a majority of the dialogue consists of harsh profanity.
  • The opening bar scene consists of many uses of f*ck, s*it, c*nt, ass and one use of fag.
  • F*ck is used several other times during the few other dialogue scenes in the last half of the movie.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • The main character is an alcoholic drinks a lot of whiskey and beer throughout the movie. He gets very drunk in at least three scenes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Because this is a surrealist horror movie, much of the strange and unusual atmosphere may be unsettling for certain viewers. Many of the scenes are recreations of the director's nightmares, and as a result, eerie sound effects and dark ambient music fill much of the soundtrack. One nightmare scene in particular has a sudden outburst of a loud, disturbing sound effect.
  • The scenes described under the violence & gore section are potentially frightening and upsetting.
  • The first bar scene, shown in first person mode through the main character's eyes, involves hallucinations, demonic flashes and innocent people being murdered, which may be distressing.
  • The main character explores several locations in the woods while eerie and surreal sound effects and images appear.
  • The main character contemplates suicide by a campfire while holding a gun to his head.
  • During a nightmare scene, shown in first person mode, the main character wanders through a pitch black house in the middle of the night while hearing ghostly voices. During this scene, a demon appears standing at the end of a hallway before lunging towards the camera as a very loud, disturbing sound goes off.
  • Throughout the last half of the film, the main character is pursued and attacked by several demons in the woods.
  • The main character breaks into a house and corners a man who he encounters. This scene is not violent, but is very tense.
  • The final act of the film involves torture, cannibalism, demon attacks, brutality and bloody mayhem in a surreal, hellish looking area. It also involves disturbing images and sound effects

Violence & Gore

  • Ross Graves kills the main villain, Ed Thornton, with an axe. Ed is barely seen during this scene, but graphic close ups of the axe wounds show up onscreen.
