- [Michonne volunteers to go on the antibiotic run]
- Daryl Dixon: I'm gonna take a group out. Best not waste any more time.
- Michonne: I'm in.
- Hershel Greene: You haven't been exposed. Daryl has. You get in a car with him...
- Michonne: [Michonne smiles] He's already given me fleas.
- [Hershel tells Rick and Maggie that we can choose what we risk our lives for]
- Hershel Greene: You step outside, you risk your life. You take a drink of water, you risk your life. And nowadays you breathe, and you risk your life. Every moment now you don't have a choice. The only thing you can choose is what you're risking it for. Now I can make these people feel better and hang on a little bit longer. I can save lives. That's reason enough to risk mine. And you know that.
- [Hershel cleans Rick's sprained hand after his fight with Tyreese]
- Hershel Greene: This is gonna be sprained at least a week.
- Hershel Greene: [Rick winces at the pain] Good news, none of these cuts need stitches. I wouldn't plan on much typing the next few days.
- [first lines]
- Rick Grimes: [Rick and Tyreese stand over the burned bodies of Karen and David] You found them like this?
- Tyreese Williams: I came to see Karen... and I saw the blood on the floor. Then I smelled them. Somebody dragged them out here and set them on fire. They killed them and set them on fire!
- Tyreese Williams: [Tyreese gets in Rick's face] You're a cop. You find out who did this and you bring 'em to me. You understand? You bring 'em to me!
- [Hershel volunteers to lead the group on their antibiotic run]
- Hershel Greene: I can lead the way. I know where everything's kept.
- Daryl Dixon: When we're out there, it's always the same. Sooner or later we run.
- Hershel Greene: I can draw you a map.
- [Carol walks Lizzie into the infected cell block]
- Carol Peletier: You just go in there and lie down.
- Lizzie Samuels: Will you tuck me in?
- Carol Peletier: [Carol tears up] You know my friend Glenn? He's the best tucker I know. And he'll make sure that you feel toasty and warm, okay?
- [Carol walks out of the cell block crying]
- [Daryl tells Bob they need him on their antibiotic run]
- Daryl Dixon: You all right?
- Bob Stookey: You really want me coming along?
- Daryl Dixon: [Daryl shows Bob the antibiotic list] What's that word?
- Bob Stookey: 'Zanamivir.'
- Daryl Dixon: Yup, we need you.
- [Tyreese holds Daryl up against the wall]
- Tyreese Williams: Man, I ain't going nowhere till I find out who did this!
- Daryl Dixon: [Daryl in a low voice] We're on the same side, man.
- [Rick tries to calm Tyreese down over Karen's murder]
- Rick Grimes: Hey, look, I know what you're going through. We've all lost someone. We know what you're going through right now, but you've got to calm down.
- Tyreese Williams: You need to step the hell back!
- Rick Grimes: She wouldn't want you being like this.
- [when Tyreese punches Rick in the face]
- [Hershel tells Rick that what they've been keeping out has found its way in]
- Hershel Greene: We just went through something terrible. Everything we've been working so hard to keep out, it found its way in.
- Rick Grimes: [Rick in a low voice] No. It's always there.
- [Hershel tells Rick that he still has responsibilities to keep people safe]
- Hershel Greene: We just lost twelve of our own. Two more we killed in cold blood. We could be facing an outbreak.
- Rick Grimes: I think I've done enough damage for one day.
- Hershel Greene: I've fallen off the wagon before.
- Rick Grimes: [Rick holds his sprained hand up] That's what this is?
- Hershel Greene: Pretty close. When it happened, I didn't stand around feeling bad about it. I got back up. I had responsibilities. People to keep safe.
- [Bob tries to care for Tyreese as Tyreese digs two graves]
- Bob Stookey: Let's get you cleaned up, man. You might even need a couple stitches.
- Tyreese Williams: [Tyreese continues digging] Not until they're in the ground.
- Bob Stookey: You should at least let Hershel or Dr. S take a look at you, make sure nothing's broken.
- Tyreese Williams: [Tyreese looks to Bob] When they're in the ground.
- [as Tyreese continues digging]
- [the council goes over on how to stop the sickness from killing them]
- Hershel Greene: First things first. Cell block A is isolation. We keep the sick people there like we tried with Karen and David.
- Daryl Dixon: What the hell we gonna do about that?
- Carol Peletier: Ask Rick to look into it. Try to make a timeline... who's where when. But what are we gonna do to stop this
- Hershel Greene: There is no stopping it. You get it, you have to go through it.
- Michonne: But it just kills you?
- Hershel Greene: The illness doesn't. The symptoms do. We need antibiotics.
- [Hershel suggests separating the youngest group members from being exposed]
- Hershel Greene: There's no telling how long it'll be before Daryl and his group return. Wouldn't it make sense for us to separate the most vulnerable? We can use the administration building. Separate office, separate room.
- Glenn Rhee: Who is the most vulnerable?
- Hershel Greene: The very young.
- Glenn Rhee: What about the old?
- [as Hershel remains silent]
- [Carol asks Rick if Carl is pissed about being quarantine]
- Carol Peletier: Is Carl pretty pissed about going into quarantine?
- Rick Grimes: Of course. But it's better to be safe.
- Carol Peletier: Always better to be safe.
- [Rick apologizes to Tyreese over Karen's grave]
- Rick Grimes: I'm sorry about what happened. What I did to you. Everything.
- Tyreese Williams: It's on both of us. You got to find who did this.
- [Rick asks Tyreese if Karen had a problem with anybody before she was murdered]
- Rick Grimes: Did anyone have a problem with him or Karen?
- Tyreese Williams: No. No way. I was with her all the time, every day. She got along with everybody. Same with David.
- Rick Grimes: They were the only two who were sick. The person who did it might have tried to stop this thing from spreading.
- Tyreese Williams: They didn't. Now Sasha has it.
- [Rick tells Carl to watch if any of the kids get sick]
- Rick Grimes: If anybody gets sick, you let me know.
- Carl Grimes: What if they've already turned when I find them?
- Rick Grimes: You don't fire unless you absolutely need to.
- Carl Grimes: But you know I might need to, right?
- [Rick remains silent]
- [Daryl and Michonne talk about finding somebody else to go on a supply run with]
- Daryl Dixon: Hey. I'm glad you're here.
- Michonne: Where else would I be?
- Daryl Dixon: Running off.
- Michonne: You know I'm not running off. So it's just gonna be me and you like in the old days?
- Daryl Dixon: Yeah, and Bob. Still, feels like we could use another person.
- Michonne: Who else isn't sick?
- [Carl catches Hershel trying to sneak into the woods alone]
- Hershel Greene: I need to go out there.
- Carl Grimes: To the cell blocks?
- Hershel Greene: To the woods.
- Carl Grimes: So you're sneaking out.
- Hershel Greene: Don't need anyone worrying about me and I damn sure don't want someone telling me I can't go.
- Carl Grimes: I can't just let you go out into the woods by yourself.
- Hershel Greene: Let me?
- Carl Grimes: I can't stop you. But I have to tell my dad.
- Hershel Greene: Go ahead, then. I'll be out there by the time you find him.
- Carl Grimes: Hershel. If you have to go, then I have to come with you.
- [Maggie cries while talking to Beth through the door]
- Beth Greene: Things okay out there?
- Maggie Greene: [Maggie starts to cry] Glenn has it.
- Beth Greene: Maggie. We don't get to be upset. We all got jobs to do. That's what Daddy always says. Daryl and Michonne will get the meds. You and Carol and Rick will help everyone till they get back. And I'll take care of Judith. Just focus on what you have to do. No matter what happens, we'll deal with it. We have to.
- [Hershel sees Carl have his gun back]
- Hershel Greene: When did your dad give it back?
- Carl Grimes: Yesterday. After everything happened.
- Hershel Greene: You've grown a lot these last few months. There's a responsibility about you. I think it's done you good to step back.
- Carl Grimes: Yeah. It was all right. Can't be like that all the time.
- [Hershel and Carl stand in the woods alone]
- Hershel Greene: It's peaceful out here. These last couple days, we might be safer outside those walls than in.
- Carl Grimes: [when Carl sees a Walker stuck to a tree stump] No, we're not.
- Hershel Greene: Let's wrap this up.
- Hershel Greene: [when Carl raises his gun at another approaching Walker] Don't. You don't need to. It was so peaceful.
- Carl Grimes: It was. Can't be like that all the time.
- [when the two walk off back to the prison]
- [Tyreese talks to Sasha through the glass in the prison visiting room]
- Sasha Williams: I heard about Karen...
- Tyreese Williams: Don't. Don't think about that now. Think about getting better. Positive thoughts. Positive vibes.
- Sasha Williams: [Sasha cries] I don't know.
- [Tyreese asks Carol is she could check in on Sasha while he's on a run]
- Tyreese Williams: I'm going on the run with Daryl. But I was wondering... I know there's a lot of people in trouble. Sick. It's just I know how you are. You care.
- Carol Peletier: Thank you.
- Tyreese Williams: I was wondering if you could look in on Sasha for me. It would make me feel better knowing you were looking in on her. If you can't...
- Carol Peletier: No. No, I'd be happy to.
- Tyreese Williams: Thank you.
- Carol Peletier: [Carol tears up] Oh, what happened to Karen, I'm so sorry.
- [Tyreese remains silent]
- [Hershel tells Rick about the Elderberries to treat patients with]
- Rick Grimes: What's going on?
- Hershel Greene: Elderberries. My wife used to make tea with them. They're a natural flu remedy. Caleb's too sick to help. I can. There's so many times we haven't been able to do anything to change what was happening... what was happening to us. We wished we could, but we couldn't. This time, I can.
- [Beth cries while talking to Maggie through the door]
- Maggie Greene: Daddy's gone. He left.
- Beth Greene: I know.
- Maggie Greene: Did he tell you where he went?
- Beth Greene: No, but... I know.
- Maggie Greene: How?
- Beth Greene: Dr. S. is sick and... we all got jobs to do.
- Maggie Greene: We'll deal with it, right?
- Beth Greene: [Beth starts to cry] We don't get to get upset.
- [Carol barely makes it back from unclogging the water pump]
- Carol Peletier: [Carol out of breath] Piece of cake.
- Rick Grimes: We decided to do that tomorrow.
- Carol Peletier: We don't know if we get a tomorrow.
- [Hershel tells Glenn that his job is to keep believing]
- Glenn Rhee: [Glenn sighs] This sucks. After everything, we just get taken out by a glorified cold.
- Hershel Greene: Don't say things like that. Don't even think things like that.
- Glenn Rhee: All I can do is stop saying them.
- Hershel Greene: No, you can do more. We got this far somehow, you can believe somehow. Now we all have jobs here. That one's yours.
- [last lines]
- Rick Grimes: [Rick asks Carol if she killed Karen and David] You know, you do a lot for us, for the kids. You sacrifice a lot. Is there anything you wouldn't do for the people here?
- Carol Peletier: No.
- Rick Grimes: [Carol walks off] Carol...?
- Rick Grimes: [Carol stops to turn around] Did you kill Karen and David?
- Carol Peletier: [Carol quickly responds before walking off again] Yes.
- [Rick tells Tyreese that his priority is to keep their home going]
- Rick Grimes: Look, whoever it was who did this, they're not going anywhere. We'll find them.
- Tyreese Williams: Today? Right now? Because I'm not feeling the urgency. All I see you doing is pumping water. In fact, what I'm picking up is murder is okay in this place now.
- Rick Grimes: No, it is not. But we have to save lives first. We have to keep this place going.
- Tyreese Williams: You worry about that. I'll worry about what's right.
- [Hershel gives Caleb a drink of his Elderberry Tea]
- Hershel Greene: Drink it.
- Hershel Greene: [Caleb drinks the tea] Hang in there, Doc.
- Dr. Caleb Subramanian: You shouldn't be here.
- Hershel Greene: Tell me you wouldn't be.
- Hershel Greene: [Caleb coughs repeatedly] If you weren't in here already, you'd be in here.
- [Hershel puts a cold rag to Glenn's forehead]
- Glenn Rhee: I'm fine. I'm fine.
- Hershel Greene: [Hershel puts a cold rag on Glenn's forehead] Keep this on your forehead. Veterinarian's orders.
