Storyline
Encanto tells the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live hidden in the mountains of Colombia, in a magical house, in a vibrant town, in a wondrous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of the Encanto has blessed every child in the family with a unique gift from super strength to the power to heal-every child except one, Mirabel. But when she discovers that the magic surrounding the Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family's last hope. —Walt Disney Animation Studios

- TriviaStephanie Beatriz was originally going to be offered the role of Luisa. However, when the production met with her, they realized that she's not at all like her signature role of Rosa Diaz in Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013) but much more bubbly. So they offered her the part of Mirabel instead.
- GoofsWhen Mirabel reaches the top of the stairs in Bruno's Tower she finds out there's a considerable gap she has to cross by swinging a rope in order to enter the Prophecies Room. The gap is not visible from a bird's eye overview of the Tower from a minute before. Instead, it looks like the room is accessible from at least two sets of stairs (on both sides of the rock walls) with no additional obstacles.
- Crazy creditsThe opening Walt Disney Animation Studios logo appears with a "60th Animated Motion Picture" commemoration.

Songs are long, repetitive, and terrible. Plot is uneven and heavy handed.
The movie is colorful, beautiful and creative. I love how it showcases the diversity in all of it's Colombian characters.
However, all of this can't make up for the fact the music sounds as if it were made in a weekend. The song We Don't talk about Bruno is the worst. The reason is that the songs were long and repetitive and there basically used as a vehicle to take up empty plot space not add anything of value to scene. Speaking if the plot, it just wasn't well thought out. I feel that instead of rushing this film they should have spent time working on the script and music. This voice actors were excellent. I just think children deserved better than a beautiful film with mediocre plot and songs.
