The robbers' use of code names and the prohibition of revealing any personal information to each other is reminiscent of the rules laid down by Joe Cabot, the mastermind of the jewelry heist in Reservoir Dogs (1992).
The Robbers are given code name Arnold, Willis, Phillip, And Carrie is Pearl. These are characters from the show Diff'rent Strokes (1978-84) Conrad Bain made his final uncredited Television appearance in Season 1, Episode 10 as the priest Carrie interviewed. Conrad was Phillip Drummond (The Father) on Diff'rent Strokes.

The toxic substance pumped into the theater was not disclosed at the time, although it was believed by some to have been a fentanyl derivative.
