Comic Relief in this year was celebrating its 25th anniversary, so I was hoping it would return with more laughs than possibly the last couple of years, and thankfully there was plenty to an enjoy, a great charity event and comedy extravaganza with something for everyone. Presenters were Lenny Henry, Claudia Winkleman, Dermot O'Leary, Michael McIntyre, Rob Brydon, John Bishop, Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Jack Whitehall, David Tennant, Alan Carr, David Walliams and Russell Brand. The Wedding of Simon Cowell starred Simon Cowell (who married himself), Amanda Holden, Aleesha Dixon, Rylan Clark, Louis Walsh, Peter Dixon, Stacey Soloman, Ashley & Pudsey, Jonathan & Charlotte, Sharon Osbourne, Robbie Williams, David Walliams, Spelbound, Dennis Egel, Paul Potts, JLS, Sinitta, Stavros Flatley, Olly Murs, Stephen Mulhern, The Showbears and Caroline Flack. Jessie J shaved her hair off. A spoof episode of One Born Every Minute was mixed with Call the Midwife, narrated by Vanessa Redgrave, starring Miranda Hart, Pam Ferris, Jenny Agutter and Matt Smith. Rowan Atkinson played the new Archbishop of Canterbury from Lambeth Palace. Comic Relief Does Masterchef starred Dame Edna Everage, Micky Flanagan, Jack Whitehall, Gregg Wallace and John Torode, with India Fisher narrating. EastEnders did a special short episode focusing on how vulnerable children enter gang culture, starring Liam (James Forde) and Bianca (Patsy Palmer). Peter Kay Sit Down for Comic Relief was narrated by David Walliams and starred Chris Evans, Ray Quinn, Rustie Lee, Bob Carolgees and Spit the Dog, Coronation Street cast members, Brian Conley, presenters from This Morning and Daybreak, Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, The Stig, Yvette Fielding and Lord Sebastian Coe, and later Kay performed a new music video for the song "Sit Down" with its singer James. Smithy (James Corden) appealed to the public. David Brent (Ricky Gervais) from The Office returned to launch a pop career with Doc Brown, and they performed their song "Equality Street". Miranda's Mad March (a wedding arrangements sketch) starred Miranda Hart, Patricia Hodge, Sally Phillips and Dawn French & Jennifer Saunders. Mrs. Brown (Brendan O'Carroll) and Cathy Brown (Jennifer Gibney) from Mrs. Brown's Boys appeared a few times. The Vicar of Dibley returned for a one-off short special, starring Dawn French, Gary Waldhorn, James Fleet, Trevor Peacock, Roger Lloyd-Pack, John Bluthal and Damian Lewis. Great British Bake-Off for Comic Relief appeared, starring Jo Brand, Bob Mortimer, Claudia Winkleman, Warwick Davis and Ellie Simmonds. The Royle Family starring Ricky Tomlinson, Sue Johnston, Caroline Aherne, Ralf Little and Craig Cash made a short appearance. David's Exes sees David Walliams visiting people he has been intimate with as he has an STD, starring Dr. Christian Jessen, Kate Moss, the Chuckle Brothers, Richard and Judy, Clare Balding, Ronnie Corbett, Alan Carr, Frank Lampard, Bruno Tonioli, Len Goodman, Christopher Biggins, John Prescott, David Gandy, Gwyneth Paltrow, Keith Harris & Orville the Duck, David Schwimmer and Hugh Grant. Highlights of Hell and High Water on the Zambezi River appeared, starring Dara O'Briain, Jack Dee, Chelsee Healey, Greg James, Phillips Idowu and Melanie 'Mel C' Chisholm. The cast of Fresh Meat: Zawe Ashton, Greg McHugh, Kimberley Nixon, Charlotte Ritchie, Joe Thomas and Jack Whitehall. Highlights from The Graham Norton 6 Hour Chat Show are shown, with Graham Norton talking to Keith Lemon (Leigh Francis), Jimmy Carr, Martin Freeman, Aston Merrygold from JLS, Got to Dance judges Ashley Banjo and Kimberley Wyatt, Paddy McGuinness, Louis Smith, Warwick Davis, Russell Tovey, Example and Paloma Faith. Highlights from comedy and music gig Give It Up for Comic Relief were shown, hosted by Russell Brand and featuring acts like Jessie J, Jimmy Carr, Jake Bugg, Emeli Sande, and John Bishop. Very Important People starred Terry Mynott and Morgana Robinson impersonating Sir David Attenborough, Adele and Danny Dyer. Highlights from Mark Watson's 25 Hour Comedy Gig were shown, starring Mark Watson, Rufus Hound, Adam Hills, Zac Braff, Jennifer Saunders, Lauren Laverne, Krishnin Guru-Murthy and Rachel Riley. There is also David Walliams and Alan Carr spoofing James Bond following the release of Skyfall, celebrities wearing Onesies, Dynamo performing a big magic trick with Zoë Ball watching, Anchorman Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Russell Howard with his Good News, Ricky Gervais with Pepe the King Prawn (Bill Barrett) from The Muppets, Mr. Khan (Adil Ray) from Citizen Khan, and Grimmy's Comic Relief Late Nighter with Nick Grimshaw. Musical performances include: "One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)" by One Direction, "Lifening" by Snow Patrol, "Another Love" by Tom Odell and "People Help the People" by Birdy. Other contributors include The Wanted, Jimmy Carr, Ed Milliband, Ruby Wax, Brenda Blethyn, Denise Van Outen, Rebecca Adlington, James McAvoy, Kate Moss, Davina McCall, Alexander Armstrong, Reggie Yates, Bill Nighy, David Tennant, Peter Andre, David Beckham, Ian 'H' Watkins, Rylan Clark and comedy rappers Abandonment.
