Ess vs Rich, at the MCG.

Fletcher out for the Bombers, Brendon Gale the Tigers. Richardson kicks the opener for Richmond, Lloyd replies. Ottens goals from outside 50 and then again from 50 on the angle. The Tigers on fire, as Richardson converts from 60. Lloyd marks in front of goal and kicks his and Essendon's third, Richmond leading by 12 at quarter-time. Ottens marks and goals again from the boundary. Lloyd with a good mark out in front, converts from outside 50. He then marks on Kellaway and kicks his fifth, destroying Gaspar. Mercuri really off his game, the Tigers lead by 3 at the half. Hird really making things happen, goals out of the clearance as well. Lloyd goals again from outside 50, without a blemish. Richmond gets separation and Richardson goals after the 3-quarter time siren from the angle, the Tigers up 22. Campbell having an impact, with his second goal. Caracella kicks his third in limited opportunity, but Richmond too good, home by 24 points, with one of their best performances. The Tigers won the hit-outs and had more of the footy via handball, with Essendon applying 12 more tackles. The Bombers actually had 2 more scoring shots, Richmond with 77% accuracy on goal though. Ottens best afield, with 13 disposals, 23 hit-outs, 7 marks, 5 tackles and 4 straight goals. Richardson 5 marks and 5 straight goals. Campbell 33 disposals, 7 marks, 3 tackles and 2 goals. Rogers 24 disposals, 8 marks and a goal. For Essendon, Lloyd 8 marks and 6 goals. Hird 20 disposals, 3 marks and a goal. Caracella 20 disposals, 7 marks and 3 straight goals.
