- Stuart bonds with some construction guys, who invite him for a night out in Long Beach with promises of his meeting easy women. Jessica gives Wade advice on how to win back Marion after 30 days of no communication.
- Jessica (Christine Woods) wakes up in Stuart's bed with Stuart (Stephen Merchant) on her chest. She pushes him away and we learn that she's staying there because he's putting a new roof on the guest house.
Stuart tries to chat with the roofers. He explains to Jessica that if you relate to the workers, they won't overcharge you. She teases him about his inability to talk about professional sports and they laugh. He has little success with it and even manages to cut his hand on a skylight while trying to act cool with them.
Wade (Nate Torrence) brings in coffee and bagels to Stuart's kitchen, and sits down to talk to Jessica for advice on winning back his wife, Marian. She encourages him to make a dramatic, romantic gesture.
Stuart tries to brag about Kimberly with the construction workers but doesn't get very far since he's never actually had a date with her. They invite him to hang out with them in Long Beach to meet women aren't as stuck up as L.A. women (in their words).
Jessica and Rory show Wade the last scene of the movie "Officer and a Gentleman" as an example of a bold romantic gesture. Jessica offers to babysit Cassidy so Wade can do show up at Marian's work and sweep her off her feet.
Stuart takes the light rail train to a gritty station in Long Beach and is picked up by the construction workers as they head for a bar.
Wade, carrying a large bouquet of flowers and wearing a suit, walks into Marion's (Crista Flanagan) work to surprise her, but she's busy on a phone call and doesn't seem pleased. He tries to pick her up but she puts him off and finishes her customer's car.
At the bar, the men introduce Stuart to a group of girl. One of them, they say, is "Easy E.," who's known to be very promiscuous. Stuart is intrigued, but the men say they have to go beat someone up and force Stuart to come along.
Jessica is at Stuart's house babysitting Cassidy (Reece Caddell). Glen (Sean King) calls and asks to come by, but when he finds out she's babysitting, he puts it off for a few hours. Cassidy asks Jessica several pointed questions about Glen and their relationship status, which, as Jessica says, is complicated.
In a backroom, the construction men are almost in a fight with another group of tough-looking men. Stuart stands in the back trying to avoid everything. They resolve and leave without a fight.
Wade and Marion are sitting in the break room at her job. He asks her if the door is still open for them, and she smiles and says, "We'll see."
Back at the bar with the girls, the men pressure Stuart to do a line of cocaine. One of them, D-Boy, takes Stuart into a stall to do the lines, when the bouncer bursts in and asks what they're doing. Stuart panics because if he's caught doing something illegal he could be deported. In a panic, Stuart blurts out "I was sucking his c----." The worker starts at him, furious at Stuart at making it seem he's gay.
Wade has picked up Cassidy from Jessica, who is now entertaining Glen and trying to figure out if they are just friends with benefits or more. Glen gives a very generic answer that doesn't make a lot of sense. She seems resigned to be with him in an uncommitted way for now.
The men bring Stuart to one of their homes where they do more cocaine. The men have a lot of ink and one is swinging a samurai sword around. He is clearly out of his element and very uncomfortable. He inadvertently insults one of the men's sisters, "Easy E." which causes trouble for the whole group. He makes a hasty exit and runs to the train station.
In Stuart's bed, Glen is getting up, leaving Jessica there, saying he has an early morning. He leaves. Later, she has changed the sheets and is up reading when Stuart enters and climbs under the covers.
Wade brings Cassidy back to Marion's house in the morning. Marion bursts into tears and says they should get a divorce. Before Wade can respond, Cassidy grabs him and starts showing him her drawings.
At Stuart's house it is daytime and the construction workers have finished up the job. The invoice is for $5K instead of $2K, Stuart points out, but he simply writes the check. As they drive away, he sees they have painted "I suck c----" on his garage door.
