- Queens, NY, 1965. Two children disappear in the night, taken from their bedroom. Hours later they turn up dead, strangled. The police have no clues but an instant dislike for the parents: Eddie (20's) and Alice Crimmins (26). They are separated and fighting over custody of the kids. She seems more concerned about her make-up and appearance than her dead kids; he seems to be obsessed with her many love affairs. Cops think one of them did it, but it will take twelve years to unravel the truth.—XCON Productions LLC
- Queens, NY, 1965. Edmund (29) and Alice (26) Crimmins are separated and fighting over the custody of their children, Eddie Jr. (5) and Alice (Missy) (4). When the children suddenly go missing in the night and turn up dead later the small working-class New York neighborhood is horrified. Police interview the parents and they are taken aback. Alice's children are dead yet she is neither sobbing nor hysterical. Rather, she is heavily made-up and sharply dressed. Eddie is peculiar too. He seems more concerned with maligning Alice than finding his kids' killer. He tells cops that she cheats on him regularly; he knows because he has installed a microphone in her bedroom and he listens to her lovemaking from the basement of the building. Authorities are convinced one of them did it but the police will spend the next twelve years trying to untangle the details of the Crimmins toxic relationship and extracurricular love affairs that include possible ties to organized crime and high powered politicians all in an effort to reveal the tragic mystery of who really killed Eddie and Missy. This is never really determined. Alice is convicted because of her sex life, the verdict is thrown out, she is convicted again in a retrial, half that verdict is let out and she is released after a short period of time due to mischief on the part of the courts. She lives today in Florida, and no one has ever been brought to justice for the murder of her son.
