Violet and Brett seem to have forgotten they are paramedics attached to the Chicago Fire Department and spend most of the episode looking for a woman who they ran into at a bakery who mouthed "help me," to them. The two suspect that the woman has been abducted and they set about doing Chicago PD's job for them. Boden, strangely, doesn't seem to mind. In the real world, an unlikely scenario - but a very entertaining storyline.
Perhaps "Trapped" will be most infamous for Severide heading off to work another ATF arson case. He swears he's coming back...but with the Taylor Kinney mystery absence in season eleven, it does make you wonder if Kinney is done for good, and in the process of being written out of the show. This episode might've been the last we see of Severide. Hot on the heels of Jesse Spencer's departure, and Kara Killmer's upcoming departure, there are less and less foundation members of the show. Yes, I know the Brett character arrived in season 3, but still, my point remains that a lot of OG cast seem to be leaving.
The next few episodes of Taylor Kinney Watch will be interesting. Who knows? Maybe this is a big head fake.
