Gotta admit I find this show compelling. Who doesn't enjoy watching people who are hopelessly out of their element messing up renovation projects and putting their own personal safety at risk?
I can't remember ever seeing an episode where I came away thinking, ''that couple really nailed it." Mostly I cover my eyes while the wife swings a sledgehammer while wearing cocktail-hour shoes. Or the husband uses a reciprocating saw and accidentally cuts through water pipes hidden behind drywall.
Every DIY store in the world has gloves and safety glass and hard hats. Yet they rarely make appearances on this show.
Nobody seems to have any construction skills, or very little skill. It would be like making a show where I am featured doing open-heart surgery because "I've always dreamed of saving lives."

Yes, it is a train wreck but I like to watch it. I know it's produced but you see a depiction of regular people making a mess. I have learned a few things from it too. Why is it that none of the black flippers are successful?
I find it funny when at the beginning, all these people, with no experience at all, talk about all the work they're going to do. I hope it stays on. I like this show and Renovation Realities.

Congrats DIY! You're either making a killing letting people humiliate on themselves on national TV (like Jerry Springer show), or your trying to go for a comedy (she didn't even know how to put on a dust mask but running a reciprocating saw! Really?) I literally cringe at the lack of safety and SMH at the ignorance. You got 2 stars because it did hold my interest to the end, but seriously doubt I will watch another episode. Painful.
