Great Start

Warning: Spoilers
This was actually quite an amusing comedy but quite gentle.

The teachers all seem to be over 40 apart from one. And they are quite out of touch with the pupils they teach. The pupils are presented as streetwise and ignorant of their studies but maybe this hints at their disconnection with each other.

I do wonder how a 15 year old girl is called Beyonce the real Beyonce hasn't been around long enough.. yet.

With David Walliams, Catherine Tate, Frances de la Tour and Philip Glenister the show is not short of recognisable actors and there were some funny moments. Look forward to seeing how this series grows.

Utter silliness, good fun.

Greybridge Secondary School opens its doors for the first tine, old fashioned teacher Mr Church is set to put his notice in, until he sees the delectable new French teacher Miss Posterne. Only she's also attracted the attention of PE teacher Mr Gunn.

It's a very decent start to the show, a classroom is the perfect setting for a sitcom, as a teen I fondly remember Chalk.

The teachers are a right old mix, some very familiar faces, de la Tour, Glenister, Scanlon. Walliams is very funny with his kiss curls, as is Tate, she's delightful in this and very funny.

It's a fine start. 7/10

Good, but not great sitcom

This 1st episode of the David Walliams sitcom that never really caught on (or was allowed to) shows a lot of promise.

It's a nice mix of standard sitcom school stereotypes, with a bit of darkness thrown in, but Walliams grates in the lead role, and that spells disaster.

Far more assured performances come from Phillp Glenister (basically imagine Gene Hunt as a PE teacher) and Catherine Tate.
