- Ava Hessington hires Travis Tanner to handle her malpractice suit against the firm. Travis rekindles his rivalry with Harvey and he deposes him (and even Dana). Mike finds himself in a quandary with Rachel. When Jessica finds out about them, she wants something from Rachel and tells Mike to ask her for it.—rcs0411@yahoo.com
- Opens with Harvey apologizing to Scottie. He tells her to honor the dissolution agreement and put all the liability on Darby. He thinks Darby International is done if they go to a jury and she needs to get out now. She instead asks him to help her figure out how to fight the suit together.
Things have gotten awkward between Mike and Rachel, who wants to figure out which law school is best for her before even considering her relationship with him. He's upset that she wants to decide between Stanford and Columbia "in a vacuum" without putting their relationship in the equation.
Jessica tells Harvey they don't stand a chance arguing the case on its merits. She wants them to offer their testimony to Ava in exchange for taking their names off the lawsuit. Harvey knows this will piss off Scottie.
Harvey shows up for his meeting with Ava but finds Travis Tanner there instead. He is Ava's counsel and says Ava isn't interested in "letting you off the hook" and doesn't want him to testify against Darby. The two engage in some trash-talking during which Harvey reminds Tanner he's 0-2 against him - and the 0 isn't going to change.
Mike asks Harvey for an assignment and Harvey figures out he's got girlfriend issues.
Louis and Sheila are "hanging out" again, so to speak, with pictures of a younger Louis at college as foreplay.
Scottie tells Jessica she wants to be part of Harvey's deposition. Jessica doesn't think it's a good idea because Travis'll have dirt on Scottie and Harvey.
Mike tells Rachel he doesn't believe long distance relationships work. If she chooses Stanford, it most likely means their relationship is done.
Post-coitus Sheila tells Louis of a Harvard graduate named Brian Galloway she's been saving for him. He's perfect for the firm. She wants them to spend the day together. He declines, saying he can't be unfaithful to his firm. He leaves with Brian's folder and a thanks but no good-bye kiss, which leaves her hurt.
Jessica corners Donna about Mike and Rachel. She's worried that Mike told Rachel's father his secret and demands Donna keep quiet about her inquiry.
A disheveled Mike visits Harvey and asks him for advice how to not let women get to him. Harvey says he's not the best person to ask about love and gives Mike the morning off.
Louis, finding out the Brian candidate is fielding offers from eight different firms (including his), is upset. Sheila, without a commitment from Louis, says if she wants to take Brian away from Louis' firm she will.
Harvey speaks with Ava before the deposition. She admits that she was the one who approached Tanner, picking somebody whom he can't intimidate. She is displeased that Harvey doesn't seem the least bit sorry about the way he handled her case - but he WILL be once Tanner gets through with him.
During the deposition, Tanner tells Harvey he has evidence Harvey knew Huntley had the murders committed. Tanner tells Scottie about Harvey trying to cut a deal behind her back. Tanner goes after Harvey and Scottie's relationship, making sure to drop the information that Scottie was engaged when they got together the last time.
Mike tells Rachel he's going to give her space to make her law school decision. Talking to Harvey let him know he'd lose her if he made an ultimatum. He says he thinks they'll make it work.
Scottie yells at Harvey for trying to cut a deal. She wants to know whose idea it was, and Harvey says it was Jessica's. He never wanted to go behind her back but didn't feel he had a choice. He tells her she doesn't have a choice either.
Louis talks to Mike about Sheila. After telling Mike what happened, he realizes Sheila was telling him she wanted them to be exclusive and he missed the signal.
Tanner approaches Scottie with an offer. She says she won't betray Harvey, so Tanner responds by saying he's going to depose her.
During Tanner's deposition of Scottie, he asks for more particulars of Scottie and Harvey's romantic past. He pulls out an affidavit from Huntley saying Scottie knew about everything from the beginning. (Huntley has turned on her.)
Donna asks Mike to go with her to see Huntley.
Now in prison, Huntley says he wasn't offered anything from Darby to provide his misleading statement about Scottie. Donna asks for a minute alone. With Mike out of the room, Huntley admits he's lying about Scottie. Donna asks him not to do what he's doing, but he says he has no choice. Mike returns. Donna and Mike reveal to Huntley that everything said in that room is recorded. (Only conversations between a client and his attorney are not recorded - and they are NOT his attorneys.) Having what they came for, they exit.
Back at the office, Harvey finds a file left by Donna on his desk with the statement Huntley made about lying. He gives Donna a nod that this is all right.
Jessica stops unexpectedly at Mike's apartment. She asks about Robert Zane and wants him to get Rachel to sign an affidavit that puts her in jeopardy along with him. If she doesn't sign it, he's fired.
Louis sends Sheila an exclusivity proposal. She's pissed at the impersonal nature of the move - "the least romantic thing ever" - and rips it up. She wants him to figure out where she'll be the following night.
Tanner tells Harvey he doesn't care about Huntley. His plan is to drag Scottie through the mud to the point her career will be over. The only way Harvey can stop it is to settle.
Harvey shows Scottie the settlement offer he got from Tanner. She doesn't want to sign it, but he thinks she should. Tanner can only come after her because Ava is letting him as a way to get to him. If Scottie "takes the shackles" off, he'll be able to convince Ava that her fight is really with Darby. Scottie agrees.
Mike tells Rachel about the affidavit. He thinks the only way out of the problem is for her to go to Stanford.
During Ava's deposition, Harvey and Jessica reveal to Tanner that they've split with Darby. Jessica reminds Ava they have witnesses that she asked Harvey to bribe witnesses on her behalf. Harvey turns off the camera and apologizes to Ava for not listening to her, but he emphasizes that everything he did was in her best interest. It works. Tanner has been beaten.
Mike tells Harvey about the ultimatum given to him and Rachel by Jessica. He says he doesn't want Rachel to leave.
Rachel goes to see Jessica and asks her to waive the Harvard rule for her and guarantee her a spot at the firm when she graduates.
Harvey and Scottie have drinks at his place to celebrate the win. He says he wants to work with her and asks her to join him at the firm. He then admits "I want you in my life."
Rachel goes to see Mike. She tells him Stanford is the better fit, but she's not going to go. She's going to stay.
Louis finds Sheila in her "home," her work library that contains a file with every Harvard Law School student. They agree to be exclusive. She leaves to call her mother and makes him promise not to touch any of the files. Bending to temptation, he immediately goes for Harvey's file, laughing at the picture. He then wants to find Mike's student pic, but can't find his file. "He's not here," Louis says dourly.
