This show is cute
babymanperson21 May 2024
I love the new art style it reminds me of the Peanuts Movie. The reboot did a pretty good job being true to the original while still doing its own thing. In this new version, Cosmo and Wanda have a new Godkid and it takes place in the future. I prefer the original but this is a worthy reboot. It's pretty funny so I would recommend checking it out. My man Poof had better appear he is one of my favorite characters. I also hope they show the whereabouts of what happened to other characters from the original. What happened to Chloe, What happened to Sparky, What happened to Chester, What happened to AJ, What happened to Vicky, What Happened to Tootie, What happened to Darth Lazer, etc.

Fairly Oddly Surprised
katherineafox18 May 2024
Admittedly before I even watched this show having had seen how bad just the first episode of the previous reboot attempt was, that I was quite trepidatious as how this series may turn out. I was fairly surprised at how good the actual first episode of this new reboot was, although Cosmo and Wanda being presented as retirees still doesn't sit right with me. It just seems out of character for them. The series has potential where the other reboot was an utter catastrophe and quite an awful show to where I forgot to even watch the remaining twelve episodes before Paramount terminated its existence. It was that unmemorable. This however it does have some heart put into it rather than it being just a soulless cash grab like the other was. The only connecting points between it and the original show were the animated opening sequence and the cameo by an adult Timmy Turner and his faeries sans Poof being transferred to his Fairly Odder canon cousin. This show on the other hand is about an entirely new god-kid in an entirely new city who meets Cosmo and Wanda as her "neighbors" and eventually calamity ensues after Hazel makes her first wish.

a fresh take on a show that lost its magic
BigDaddy400028 May 2024
Legitimately surprised with how this one turned out. Its miles better than the final couple seasons of the fairly oddparents. The problem with the original show is that the studio kept dragging it out for WAY too long, running it into the ground so hard that by the time it ended, pretty much everyone involved (from the animators, to the writers, to the voice actors) werent even trying anymore. And when i went into this show i was just worried it was going to be a continuation of that, but no, they gave it a well needed new coat of paint.

For one thing the returning characters arent flanderized as heck in this one, cosmo isnt a complete braindead moron and wanda isnt a condescending nag. Theres also a good amount of callbacks to the original series which actually served a purpose, and the writing quality is really improved.

Another thing they improved upon the show is how they managed to flush out characters that the original series would have just pushed to the side. Like hazels parents for example, they could have easily just made them generic parent stereotypes like timmys parents were, but no, they actually have personalities this time around. The writing isnt lazy or cheap, in the original series the writers pretty much gave up following the shows rules by the end of it, and its nice to have writers that actually care this time around

also the animation, oh man the animation is good. Its highly stylized 3D animation that imitates 2D, and its done surprisingly well. Like i expect a level of quality like this in a movie, this is probably the first ever tv show to have a "spider verse" level of stylization. I also like how they occasionally bring in the old 2D style and integrate it seamlessly with the modern animation style. No idea how they have the budget for this, but im impressed.

Its not bad, it really is. Its a good idea being taken in the right direction for once.

This reboot is cool
The episodes I saw are fantastic. When I saw the teasers for the first time, they didn't convince me very much, and I even thought it was going to be like the disgusting live action that people should forget; What I was going for is that I like the mix of 2D and 3D animation, I also like that the relationship between Cosmo and Wanda no longer has a relationship as toxic as the last seasons and Hazel is fantastic. I really like her personality in general. I think that This show can move forward, it could even finally end the Fairly OddParents arc so that it has a better ending than the one we had in the original series.

This show is odd, FAIRLY ODD!!!
electricwolf5618 May 2024
Honestly it's one of the best things FOP has had in awhile! I was skeptical when they first announced this show, since modern FOP has not been good the last decade with the later seasons of the OG show and Fairly Odder.

This reboot/sequel show has a chance though! I saw the new episode that premiered today and I absolutely LOVED IT! The animation is a mix of 2D and 3D which reminds me a lot of the Peanuts movie, (which one of the people who worked on that movie, worked on this show).

There's so many sound effects! It's insane, it feels so cartoony that way! And the music is SPOT ON, literally switch up the tone in music for each scene, it's amazing!

So far, I love the main character Hazel, she is so fun and cute! She's nothing like Chloe from season 10. Also Cosmo and Wanda are in LOVE with each other again and are not fighting unlike the later seasons of OG FOP, and Cosmo is actually a little more smart! (Ofc he still has his silliness)

There's also an amazing cast, and an amazing team these team members have worked on Craig of the Creek, infinity train, peanuts movie, adventure time, etc. Which were all amazing!

Overall, this show is definitely a step up from what we had the last decade of FOP, I'm happy to see that there is a dedicated team that worked on this. I can't wait to see the rest! I'll make another review on this show after the season is over.

But so Far 10/10!!! 💖

Not as bad...probably even better than Fairly Odder! :D

Warning: Spoilers
As a fan of FOP (Fairly OddParents), the show was my favorite NickToon IMO. Even if I like the newer seasons. Tbh when Fairly Odder came out, It was..okay. (Just not as good) But I think A New Wish is actually better! The first episode was kinda emotional and relatable. The new animation might not be realistic (as in it might look too realistic), but its cartoony and I like it! (with the fact it's...a cartoon) It's pretty funny. Hazel honestly felt very relatable in the first episode, and to me its kinda emotional that I love the show so far. I'm wishing the series the best it can have so far!

These constant reboots...
itzbrokendolly18 May 2024
It says a lot about the television industry when they keep making reboots and spin-offs of shows that have been long dead. Everything on television has already been done, and this is proof. Oh, but they make sure to add "diversity" and some goofy animation style to make it vaguely different, when it is just the. Same. Thing.

Why not bring back Timmy? Why bring this show back at all after it already ran for too long to begin with? What is up with these constant reboots, they only turn out worse. And the animation style is weird, it's a mix of 2D and 3D, it tries to look realistic but also not.

This is going to be the Fairly Oddest (and coolest) reboot ever!
The90sMakeMeSlimy24 May 2024
I heard a lot of rumors that the show is not going to be good, because some said that the creators made some "unforgivable" mistakes, especially the ADULT Timmy Turner in "Fly"! Thank God that Ms. Katai said that it is NOT Timmy...but a HOMAGE of Timmy through Twitter.

The best and weird things in the show (so far...)

1. The theme song is CATCHY!

2. Hazel Wells! She is soooo cute in this one! Ms. Hairston did very well with the voice!

3. Cosmo was a little more smarter (according to another post).

4. Wanda's voice was a bit different in this one. But still, it's a process! (I still adore her anyway XD) 5. The plot. The first one was fine. I did see the pilot but the audio was better and the images are all crystal clear!

This also gives me some questions that need to be answered: When is Periwinkle going to show up?

Is Dev going to get a fairy godparent?

And the important... WHAT WILL BE WANDA'S REACTION TO PERI SINCE SHE IS HIS MOTHER?!?!?!

Well, I'll just have to wait and see. Seen the first episodes and can't wait for the rest!

Anyway, best show ever! (so far...)

Okay Reboot Of A Show That Cannot End
jeremycrimsonfox30 May 2024
The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish is the second reboot to the Fairly OddParents, the first being the Paramount+-exclusive Fairly Odder, which was cancelled after one season due to it being an attempt to turn the series into a live-action sitcom continuation (as well as some people believing the series did not need to be brought back, among other reasons), and can be seen by many fans as Nickelodeon still being unable to make up their minds on whether the FOP should stay cancelled or not (as the original show was infamous for being cancelled, only to be suddenly renewed).

Set in the city of Dimmadelphia, the show follows Hazel Wells, a ten-year-old girl whose family moved into the city. Missing her brother, Antony, who is in college, Hazel is sad and depressed, but soon, her life is about to turn Fairly Odd, as her next-door neighbors end up being Cosmo and Wanda, Timmy's fairy godparents. Having retired sometime prior to the series, seeing Hazel being miserable, they decide to come out of retirement and become her fairy godparents, where like with Timmy, each wish causes an adventure as they usually go wrong.

So, yeah, basically, this is yet another reboot, and somehow, this is fairly better than Fairly Odder. Taking the series back to its animated roots, A New Wish goes CGI with the characters looking like they were made for the original show (and even some still images made for flashbacks and the title cards done in the 2D style of the original show). Sadly, the show is said to feature mostly new characters, with Cosmo, Wanda, and the strict Jorgen von Strangle being the only three characters returning (unless Nickelodeon and the series decide to have the characters return at some point if the show does good enough to go beyond one season). For the voice acting, Daran Norris and. Susanne Blakeslee return to voice Cosmi and Wanda (with Daran also reprises the role of Jorgen). Ashleigh Crystal Harrison, best known as the voice of Babs Bunny on Tiny Toons Looniversity. Voices Hazel, and does an amazing job, and the show brings in some well known VAs like Grey Griffin,Eric Bauza, and even Carlos Alazraqul, whom FOP fans remember as the voice of series antagonist Denzel Crocker, was invited to voice a new character in Mr. Guzman, who is a lot nicer and gives Hazel good advice (as the mean adult role went to the principal,Amy Krentz, who is one of Grey Griffin's characters, who is basically mean, strict, and is obsessed with perfection or winning,

With the new characters and settings, the formula is always the same, as each episode has Hazel makes a wish, only for it to go bad, just like it did with Timmy in the original show, and learning an important lesson along the way. However, I have to give this a sevem as despite being good, the new characters were a hit-or-miss, as well as of the humor not being funny, but A New Wish is good, and I hope it gets newer fans to go and check out the original show.

The animation is awful
defiasrouge19 May 2024
Gosh darn, the animation on this show makes it impossible for me to watch. It's so... odd. Some things look real, others are obviously CGI, which is fine, but the movements seem really off.

It's a mix of smooth movement and like... fake stop motion. Stop motion is great when it's real. Faking that stuttering animation is just silly. Why would you want to intentionally make the animations worse?

What it feels like is that the animation department lacked direction and produced some kind of unholy amalgamation of animation styles. Pick one style and stick with it. No need to do this mixing.

Why change a good thing? Nothing was wrong with the original style anyway, and this is a far cry from an improvement.

This is a good reboot :)
demirosek21 May 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Most of the reviews here are just blinded by nostalgia, but this show is really good!

The pros: the animation is very nice it's a mix of 2d and 3d and I personally really like it. The humor is pretty good it has references to the original show and is just genuinely funny. Wanda and cosmo actually have a decent relationship again, in the original show by season 5 they just gave up on their relationship and made them a stereotypical nagging couple, I'm glad they have a good relationship again.

The cons: Hazel's reasoning for having fairy godparents isn't the best, she has them just because she her brother moved off to college, I really hope they expand on her reasoning for having fairy God parents. Cosmos voice is werid, this is a problem I had ever since season 6 of the original show I just wish they kept the original voice from the pilot.

Overall this show is pretty good and you should give it a watch.

REBOOT
vidtube-5024629 May 2024
"The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish" is a fresh reboot of the beloved animated series "The Fairly OddParents," introducing new characters and storylines while retaining the charm and whimsy of the original. This reboot, which premiered on Paramount+, aims to appeal to both nostalgic fans of the original series and a new generation of viewers.

One of the key elements that makes "A New Wish" deserving of a 7 out of 10 rating is its balance between honoring the legacy of the original series and bringing something new to the table. The show reintroduces classic characters like Timmy Turner's fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda, while also adding new characters such as Viv Turner and Roy Ragland. This mix of old and new helps to create a sense of continuity while also making the series accessible to newcomers.

The animation style of "A New Wish" stays true to the original's vibrant and dynamic aesthetic, but with modern updates that enhance the visual appeal. The bright colors, exaggerated expressions, and whimsical backgrounds all contribute to the show's signature look, making it visually engaging for children and enjoyable for older fans. The animation quality, while not groundbreaking, is polished and effective in bringing the magical world of the fairies to life.

Another strength of "A New Wish" lies in its humor and writing. The original series was known for its clever jokes, playful dialogue, and imaginative scenarios, and this reboot successfully captures that spirit. The show continues to deliver humor that can be appreciated by both kids and adults, featuring a mix of slapstick comedy, witty wordplay, and pop culture references. This blend ensures that the series remains entertaining across different age groups.

However, "A New Wish" is not without its flaws. Some critics and fans have noted that the new characters and storylines can sometimes feel less compelling than those of the original series. The introduction of new protagonists like Viv and Roy, while refreshing, has been met with mixed reactions. Some viewers feel that these characters lack the depth and charm that made Timmy Turner such an iconic character. Additionally, the reboot's episodic structure can occasionally lead to formulaic plots, which may not always capture the same level of excitement and creativity as the original.

Despite these criticisms, "The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish" succeeds in delivering a fun and nostalgic experience that stays true to the spirit of the original series. Its engaging animation, humorous writing, and the blend of old and new elements make it a worthwhile addition to the "Fairly OddParents" franchise. While it may not reach the heights of its predecessor, it offers enough charm and entertainment value to justify a 7 out of 10 rating.

In conclusion, "The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish" deserves a 7 out of 10 for its ability to balance nostalgia with fresh content, its visually appealing animation, and its humor that appeals to both children and adults. While it may have its shortcomings, it ultimately succeeds in capturing the magic and whimsy that made the original series a beloved classic. Fans of the original series and new viewers alike will find something to enjoy in this charming reboot.

Better part two
ttsimmons-7985129 May 2024
Alot better than the other reboots in the past. The characters in this new version of the show are more interesting and easier to connect with. Not everyone in the show is annoying, as most characters are actually quite nice. The different personalities and relationships between the characters make the story interesting and keeps me wanting more. It's nice to see a reboot that doesn't use basic, overused characters to move the story along. Like the other reboots we have seen cough cough. Overall, the show has some aspects missing that make it better than the original but i can acually call this one a good reboot. Asmr kid really 😭

Good
tytysimmons-8412025 May 2024
When I first heard about this show, I didn't have high hopes. I expected it to be like some of the other shows that have come out recently, which were not very good. I thought it might be another disappointment, like the show "Fanboy and Chum Chum." However, I was pleasantly surprised. From the very first episode, the show grabbed my attention. The characters are interesting and the story is good but not perfect. It is clear that the creators put a lot of effort into making this show enjoyable for all ages. The animation is also very well done. The colors are bright and vibrant, which makes the show visually appealing. Not like the other reboots we had.

Absolutely phenomenal!!
snipermonkeyvinnie27 May 2024
I Have to say, I wasn't sure about this new reboot as growing up with the Original 2000s cartoon brought me enough joy to the very extent where I thought it was better then life its self but this new cartoon makes me so happy I could bring john candy back alive to tell him all about smartphones. It wasn't what I expected but it will definitely do as my heart goes crazier then jack nicholson is the shining when I'm watching nick toons and see "fairly oddparents a new wish" appeer on my Amazon fire tv. Instead of jack torencing my tv with an axel, I've decided to claim this my new favorite show.

A good "reboot"
calahao1 June 2024
Fairly Odd Parents has been with me for a long time, and while I dipped out before the latter season rotted I still went here with a bit of apprehension.

Imagine, then, my surprise when this series revealed itself to be actually good.

Sure, it lacks the cynicism early Odd Parents had, and the wishes aren't quite as bombastic. However, the lighter tone is managed well without becoming too saccharine, and Cosmo and Wanda are allowed to be their original characters instead of defaulting to "silly men, serious woman" the original series fell into.

Animation wise its great. It's CGI but stylised as to fit the original character designs, not outright painted but with similar framing to the 2D original series.

Overall a good delight.

Lot of hate
wryanair1 June 2024
This show has received a lot of hate, but it isn't as bad as many people say. The story is interesting and keeps you hooked with its twists and turns. The characters are not self inserts, each having unique traits and adds depth to the story. The acting, though not perfect, has some strong performances that make the characters feel real.

Despite its flaws, the show offers good entertainment value and is worth watching. Some critics focus too much on the animation, but there's a lot to appreciate if you give it a chance. The plot is engaging and keeps viewers interested throughout each episode. The characters' development helps you connect with them.

In the end, It's not perfect, but it has enough good points to make it worth watching. If you look past the criticisms, you might find a show that you can really enjoy.
